‘Crossed Hormuz…’, messaged to family and then Iran launched missile attack, Indian man died

America and Iran war took the life of another Indian. Heramb Karmakar was posted on the Cyprus commercial ship GFX Galaxy. He had messaged the family shortly before that our ship had safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz, but then an Iranian missile destroyed the ship and he lost his life. Heramb Karmakar, a marine engineer from Pune, was only 30 years old.

According to the ‘Indian Express’ report, Heramb was among the Indian crew members who went missing after the attack on the ship on Sunday. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), 10 Indian nationals aboard the ship were rescued safely, while one Indian was reported missing. The family later confirmed that missing marine engineer Heramb Karmarkar had died.

What information did Heramb’s family give?

Heramb’s family has appealed to the Central Government to bring his mortal remains safely to India. Speaking to IANS, his father-in-law Vivek Tandon said, ‘He was only 30 years old, he had his whole life left. The only request to our government is that his body be handed over to us safely and with dignity. The body should be brought to India as soon as possible.

Foreign Ministry condemned the attack

Meanwhile, the Indian government has strongly condemned this attack. The Foreign Ministry said that the continuous attacks on commercial ships in the region are extremely worrying. According to the ministry, the Indian Embassy in Oman is monitoring the entire incident and is coordinating the search and rescue operation with Omani authorities.
