IPL 2026 Broadcast Engineer Death: The death of a broadcast engineer created a stir during the Indian Premier League 2026. It was told that the next day after the match the engineer’s body was found in the hotel room. Police have started investigation in the matter. Let us tell you that the deceased was identified as 76-year-old William Langford, who worked as a broadcast engineer in the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI. William was a person of British origin. Reportedly he was staying in Trident, Mumbai since March 24. He had come to Mumbai in connection with IPL.

Dead body found in hotel room the day after the match

In the tournament, the match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders was played on 29 March at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After the match, William came to his hotel room. Then the next day on March 30, the hotel staff tried to contact his room, but got no response from inside. After this the hotel staff opened the door with the master key. While opening the door, the staff saw the body of William Langford lying on the ground, after which he was taken to the nearest hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.

Police got information about the incident. Marine Drive police reached the spot and started investigating the case. At present, this case has been registered by the police as accidental death. The real cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report comes.

Inquiry also continues

The police have issued an inquiry into the matter. The hotel staff is also being interrogated. Police officials say that the investigation is continuing keeping every angle in mind. However, the real cause of death will be revealed only after the post mortem report. After the report comes, further action will be taken accordingly.
