Dharmendra Pradhan resigned
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan sent his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (July 25) amid ongoing student protests across the country, including New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, over the NEET paper leak issue. Announcing his resignation, he said that he has sent his resignation letter to the Prime Minister. He said, ‘I am saddened to see the events of the last 10 days. This is not a matter of personal prestige for me. He said that he has taken responsibility from day one and never turned away from this situation.
Congress is still adamant on these two demands
After the lathicharge during CJP’s Parliament march on July 20, Rahul Gandhi became more aggressive on this issue. After this he held a press conference and placed three demands before the government. His first demand was- resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. Second demand: Action should be taken against the policemen who lathi charged the students. Third demand- PM Modi should apologize regarding this issue. The first of these demands of Congress has been fulfilled, but the party is still adamant on the remaining two demands.
Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned in view of CJP’s ongoing agitation in Delhi. CJP has been protesting for the last few days demanding reform in the examination system, fixing accountability in the NEET paper leak case and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Pradhan’s resignation was among the major demands of CJP.
