Do you not trust Pakistan or is Trump a fraud? Will there be talks again between America and Iran, Shahbaz government replied

Pakistan said on Thursday (16 April 2026) that no date has been fixed yet for the second round of talks between America and Iran. This statement by Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi comes amid reports that another round of talks is possible after the Pakistani side’s recent contacts with regional leaders including the Iranian leadership. Refraining from ruling out the possibility of a second round of talks, he said, ‘No date has been decided yet.’

What did Pakistan say about the second round of talks?

On questions related to the arrival of delegations for the second round of talks between America and Iran, Andrabi said, ‘Who will come, how big will be the delegation, who will stay and who will go, it is for both sides to decide.’ He said, ‘The information related to the talks that took place here was handed over to us by the negotiating parties.’ Andrabi also said that the nuclear issue is one of the topics that is being discussed by the countries.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said, ‘We will not comment on the stance of Tehran and the parties involved in the talks. This is part of the parties’ trust in us. Tahir Andrabi said, ‘The talks between the two sides will take place with a high level of trust and confidentiality. Peace in Lebanon is necessary for peace talks. His statement has come at a time when Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is on a four-day visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, while a delegation led by Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has gone to Iran.

Instructions were given for security arrangements: Pakistan

Geo News quoted sources as saying that officials and security agencies in Pakistan have been instructed to make necessary administrative and security arrangements before the next round of talks. A day earlier, US President Donald Trump had said that the second round of talks with Iran could be held in Islamabad in the next two days.
