On the NEET paper leak issue, Central Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan admitted that what happened should not have happened. In an exclusive conversation with ABP News on Thursday (28 May 2026), he said that we will get to the bottom of the exam mafias and strict action will be taken against them. The Education Minister said, ‘The teachers on whom we trusted and gave them the responsibility of making the questions were the ones who did the group translation and some of the groups compromised and took the question paper out.’
He said, ‘Every day something or the other is being revealed in this matter. Cracking the exam by using wrong means, cracking it by spending money has become a social disease. There is a need for us to create awareness and organize a movement against it. The challenge before us was that we should not allow the interests of even a single student to be compromised. We have taken a very difficult decision, for which we are also very sad.

Will Army’s help be taken in conducting NEET exam again? In response to this question, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, Postal Department and Home Department have a role in this. State government plays an important role. It has helped him a lot in the last exam also. Let us once again gather our whole-of-government approach and test it with strength. This time there is a thought that the Postal Department used to do that work to take down the question paper of the exam. Help of Air Force should also be taken in this so that the question can be reached quickly. It should be taken and should reach quickly.

Dharmendra Pradhan also replied that there should be no compromise again and about the preparations. He said, ‘Our ministry is adopting a ‘holistic approach’ with full seriousness to ensure the purity, confidentiality and convenience of the candidates in the examination. With the announcement of the dates of new examinations, we have taken many big steps in the interest of the candidates. First of all, the fees of all the candidates who had applied for the previous examination are being fully refunded and the upcoming examination has been kept completely free for them, so that there is no additional financial burden on the students. We had also given the candidates the option to change their examination centre, under which lakhs of students have selected the new centers as per their convenience.

On Rahul Gandhi’s allegations regarding CBSE controversy, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, ‘This is not the time to do politics. The mental condition of children and their future is paramount. Rahul Gandhi has lost his balance and is showing fake aggression.
