In Panipat, fed up with daughter-in-law’s dressing style and beatings, mother-in-law and father-in-law committed suicide. Both of them used to tease him about his clothes, over which there was a fight every day. When there was a dispute, the daughter-in-law used to beat both of them and the son also did not say anything.
Family members told that the daughter-in-law was brought up in a modern family of Delhi and she was not ready to adapt to the village environment after marriage. She did not want to leave the culture of Delhi. Her mother-in-law and father-in-law often used to talk to her about her clothes and her hobby of making reels, which gradually started turning into a big trouble.

Troubled by this, both of them committed suicide by consuming sulfas. When their health deteriorated, both of them were immediately taken to Panipat Civil Hospital. After investigation, the doctors declared the mother-in-law dead on the spot. At the same time, the condition of the father-in-law was very serious, who was referred to Rohtak PGI after first aid.
Mother-in-law and father-in-law died during treatment
He also died during treatment on Sunday morning. There is silence in the village due to two funeral pyres from the same house. As soon as the information about the suicide was received, the police reached the spot, took custody of the dead bodies and took further action and registered a case against the daughter-in-law.
According to the information received, the deceased couple (mother-in-law and father-in-law) have been identified as Rajesh (46) and wife Suman (44), residents of village Nara. Both of them were upset with their daughter-in-law’s behaviour, clothes and daily fights. There used to be fights in the family regarding this.

According to family members, daughter-in-law Sneha, a resident of Delhi, was from a modern family and did not want to adapt to the village environment. Her mother-in-law and father-in-law had problems with her short clothes. There were often arguments in the house regarding her dress and lifestyle. Suman and Rajesh wanted the daughter-in-law to wear a suit and saree, but Sneha did not accept this restriction.
Family members allege that Sneha often misbehaved and beat her mother-in-law Suman. At the same time, the only son Ashish, instead of supporting his parents, used to take the side of his wife Sneha. This behavior of the son was troubling the parents from within.
Committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance
On Saturday afternoon, there was again a huge dispute in the house regarding the same issue, after which Rajesh and Suman swallowed poisonous substance (sulfas) due to mental stress. Family members told that Rajesh and Suman have only son Ashish. Ashish was introduced to Sneha, a resident of Delhi, through Facebook and Instagram.
Both were in a relationship for about two years. After this, in January 2025, they had a love-cum-arranged marriage with the consent of the family. But after a few months of marriage, a dispute started between the daughter-in-law and mother-in-law.
