The PSL 2026 tournament has been surrounded by controversies ever since it had not even started. The agency of Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani, who left Pakistan Super League and came to play in IPL, has targeted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Actually PCB has banned Muzarabani from playing in PSL for 2 years. Muzarabani’s agency retaliated by asking why a ban was imposed on breaking a contract which Muzarabani never received.
Blessing Muzarabani did not find any buyer in the PSL auction. Later, Islamabad United team signed him as a replacement player and he was to get 1.1 crore Pakistani rupees for this deal. A few days later, Muzarabani withdrew from Pakistan Super League and joined IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. He got a place in KKR as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.
In response, Pakistan Cricket Board banned Muzarabani from playing in PSL for 2 years. But Muzarabani’s sports agency ‘Sports Xchange’ has slammed the PCB and said that the Islamabad United franchise had only made a social media announcement. Muzarabani never got an official contract.

Blessing Muzarabani’s agency wrote in its statement that they were silent on this matter for the last 6 weeks because they do not want to increase any enmity. But after criticism and various things against Blessing Muzarabani, the agency had to issue its statement.

The agency also made it clear that Islamabad United had made Muzarabani an offer to play, but for this Muzarabani needed NOC from the Zimbabwe Cricket Board, which he could not get. Despite the lack of official documents, Islamabad United franchise had confirmed the signing of Muzarabani on social media.
