The next challenge before the Indian team is from Zimbabwe. Three T20 matches will be played between the two teams from July 23-July 26. BCCI had announced the Indian squad for this T20 series about two weeks ago. Many youngsters have got the opportunity for Zimbabwe tour. 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi flopped in 3 innings against England, but he has got a place in the squad for the Zimbabwe series as well.
All-rounders Suryansh Shedge and Harsh Dubey remain in the team and Rinku Singh has returned. The selectors have once again shown confidence in Prince Yadav, but meanwhile Gujarat Titans fast bowler Ashok Sharma has been selected in the team for the first time.
GT’s powerful bowler will debut
Ashok Sharma has been selected in Team India for the first time and this year he made his IPL debut while playing for Gujarat Titans. He played 6 matches and took 6 wickets in his first season. But he got a chance in the Indian team for his strong performance in domestic cricket.
Ashok Sharma is known for his fast pace and in a match against Rajasthan Royals, he bowled the ball at a speed of 154.2 km per hour. He can bowl at a speed of 145-150 km per hour continuously.
Had a great performance in domestic
Ashok Sharma was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the Indian domestic T20 tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025-26. While playing for Rajasthan team, he took 22 wickets in 10 matches. Apart from this, he also performed strongly in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 season, taking 13 wickets in 7 matches.
