Holi colors can cause damage, adopt these 5 easy methods to save your car

Holi is the most colorful and happy festival of India. On this day, children and adults all play with colors, gulal and water, but these colors can become a problem for your car. Chemical colors can damage the car’s paint, leave stains and if water gets inside, it can also damage seats, carpets and electronic parts. The process of throwing water balloons and colors starts a day or two before Holi. If you do not prepare in advance, you may have to spend thousands of rupees on cleaning or painting the car later. Therefore, the five easy tasks mentioned here will help in keeping your car safe.

1. Cover the car well

Before Holi, definitely apply a waterproof cover on your car. This is the easiest and most effective method. The cover protects the entire car from paint, water and dust. Choose a cover that can cover the side mirrors and tyres. If there is no cover, you can also use thick plastic sheet or tarpaulin. Tie the cover tightly so that it does not blow away in the wind.

2. Park in the right place

Avoid parking the car in the open on the day of Holi. Try to park it in a garage, closed parking lot or under a shed. Parking on the roadside or in a field increases the risk of colors and balloons. Proper parking can keep the car safe to a great extent.

3. Get wax or polish done

Get wax or polish applied on the car 2-3 days before Holi. Due to this, a thin layer is formed on the paint, on which the color does not stick easily. If you have budget, you can also get ceramic or Teflon coating done. This makes it easier to remove the color and also maintains the shine of the paint.

4. Keep windows and doors closed

Keep all the windows, doors and sunroof of the car completely closed. Also check whether the rubber seals are in good condition or not. If you have to drive a car, keep the AC on recirculate mode so that outside air does not come in. This keeps the interior safe.

5. If color gets on it, clean it immediately

If paint gets on the car, do not let it dry. Wash off immediately with lukewarm water and car shampoo. Clean gently with a soft cloth. For stubborn stains, a mild solution of baking soda or vinegar can be used. After cleaning, apply wax again.
