A massive fire broke out in Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram on Thursday afternoon, in which more than 150 slums were gutted and many families rendered homeless. The spark emanating from the high tension burnt people’s houses to ashes in no time. The fire was so terrible that black smoke covered the sky far and wide and the heat of this fire was felt far and wide.

A massive fire broke out in Kanwani village of Indirapuram police station area at a place where scrap disposal and recycling work takes place. According to the information, high tension wires were passing through this place, sparks came out from them during the day, which took such a monstrous form within no time. It engulfed all the surrounding slums.

Seeing the flames, there was panic among the people, some were seen saving their children and some were seen packing their world with the things kept in the house. People were running to save their lives. During this period, explosions in small cylinders have also come to light in some houses. Due to which the fire blazed faster, the fire was so fierce that the flames could be seen far and wide.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire was so fierce that its heat was felt far and wide. As soon as information about the incident was received, the fire department team reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire, after hours of hard work the fire was brought under control. Fire started due to spark from high tension wires

District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar said that there is no information about any casualty in this accident. A survey is being conducted in the area to see if any person is missing. The affected families have been taken to temporary shelters and the process of providing them relief material is underway.

Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal said that the fire was caused by sparks from high tension wires. At present, the district administration has made Arya Public School in Kanwani a relief camp, where essential services will be provided. Food arrangements have been made here for 1,000 people.
