Rishabh Pant may be dropped from India’s ODI team. Pant, who has not played any ODI match for Team India after August 2024. He is struggling with poor form in IPL 2026, where he has scored 189 runs in 8 matches. Meanwhile, a media report has created a sensation, in which it was claimed that the selectors can give a chance to Sanju Samson by removing Rishabh Pant in the upcoming ODI series.
Currently, KL Rahul is the first choice of selectors as wicketkeeper in the ODI team. Whereas Rishabh Pant was kept as backup wicketkeeper in the ODI team. A report in Dainik Jagran has claimed that the selection committee may show interest in giving Sanju Samson a chance in the ODI team. In such a situation, Pant’s place in the team seems to be in danger.
This news has come at a time when the 2027 ODI World Cup is not far away. Team India management’s focus is on preparing the World Cup team, in which Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have every possibility of playing.
