Diesel Price Hike: After the increase in the prices of premium petrol across the country, now premium diesel has also become expensive. Oil companies have increased the prices of premium diesel by about Rs 1.50 per liter from 12 midnight on Monday. This decision will have a direct impact on common consumers.

Oil companies said that this decision has been taken in view of the fluctuations in international crude oil prices and the exchange rate of the rupee. This increase in fuel prices has been done due to the continuously changing global conditions.

The burden on consumers will increase
This increase will put additional burden especially on people associated with transportation, logistics and agriculture sectors. Now the price of premium diesel in Delhi has gone up to around Rs 95 to Rs 96 per liter. Although premium diesel gives better mileage and engine performance than normal diesel, its use may be limited due to rising prices.

According to the information, Indian Oil Corporation Limited has increased the prices of its premium fuel. Under the new rates, the price of XP100 i.e. 100 octane petrol has increased from Rs 149 per liter to Rs 160 per liter. Whereas the price of Extra Green Premium Diesel has been increased from Rs 91.49 per liter to Rs 92.99 per liter.

Under this increase, XP100 petrol has increased by about Rs 11 per liter and premium diesel has increased by about Rs 1.50 per liter. The new rates have been implemented with immediate effect.

Prices have increased before also
Let us tell you that earlier on March 20, government oil companies had increased the prices of premium petrol by Rs 2 to Rs 2.35 per liter. However, at present there has been no change in the prices of normal petrol.
