Punjab Kings, coached by Ricky Ponting, are a big problem for all the opposition teams in the IPL. Even when they fail, they need to know that’s part of the game. In T20 cricket, you just need a few players to get through on any given day,” Ponting said on Geostar.
He said that our strategy was the same during the auction also. Our goal was to create a strong group with clear roles. When players have a feeling of cooperation towards others, the results are good.
If we look at the match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings, Punjab won the toss and decided to bowl first. With the help of Quinton de Kock’s unbeaten 112 runs off 60 balls, Mumbai had scored 195 runs for 6 wickets.
Punjab Kings won the match by 7 wickets by scoring 198 runs for 3 wickets in 16.3 overs, thanks to Prabhsimran Singh’s unbeaten 80 off 39 balls and captain Shreyas Iyer’s 66 runs off 35 balls.
Punjab has won 4 out of 5 matches of the season. One match was washed out due to rain.
