Party will win more than 200 seats- Mamta

The Trinamool Congress chief expressed confidence that the party will win more than 200 seats, but also cautioned that there should be no laxity in vigilance during the counting of votes. He directed that no party agent should leave the counting center until he addresses the media on May 4. He advised that in constituencies where counting centers are located in rural or remote areas, candidates, their agents and counting agents should reach that place on Sunday itself.

He also advised the agents to keep notebooks and pens with them to record the proceedings as the counting of votes progressed. According to sources, many party candidates from West Medinipur and Bankura have already made arrangements to stay near the counting centers on Sunday night. If sources are to be believed, Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee alleged that the purpose of the exit polls in which BJP is being shown ahead is to influence the stock market.

What did Abhishek Banerjee say?

He claimed that similar trends were seen during the 2021 assembly elections and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Taking a jibe at BJP, he claimed that the party itself has no hope of forming the government in West Bengal. Abhishek Banerjee further alleged that the BJP has resorted to financial manipulation through surveys which he described as misleading. Estimating the party’s performance, he said Trinamool Congress is likely to win more seats than in 2021, when it had won 215 seats.
