Sunrisers Hyderabad chased a big target of 244 runs and won by 6 wickets on Wednesday. Abhishek Sharma (45) and Travis Head (76) provided a bright start, with Heinrich Klaasen finishing brilliantly. Klaasen scored unbeaten 65 runs in 30 balls, hitting 4 sixes and 7 fours. There was not a single shot that was bad. His explosive innings also reflected his wisdom, for which he is also known. He received the Player of the Match award. After the match, former England captain Kevin Pietersen posted an advice to South Africa.
Heinrich Klaasen has retired from all three formats of international cricket at a young age. He retired on June 2, 2025. Klaasen was not able to give time to his family due to his constant travel and busy schedule. The dispute regarding the central contract with Cricket South Africa is also said to be one of the reasons for his retirement.
Kevin Pietersen gave advice to CSA
Former England captain Kevin Pietersen made two posts about Heinrich Klaasen. He wrote, “Who wrote that Klaasen is off? He is unbelievable.” After this, in another post, he advised Cricket South that if they want to win the World Cup, then call Klaasen.

Pietersen wrote, “South Africa has never won the Cricket World Cup. Cricket South Africa should call Heinrich Klaasen this morning and ask him if he can return to international cricket and become an important part of South Africa’s effort to win its first World Cup.”
