In the 7th league match of IPL 2026, today on Friday, 03 April, the teams of Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings are facing each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Through this match, CSK under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad will look for its first win of the season. Whereas Punjab would like to look towards its second consecutive victory.
Chennai had to face defeat by 8 wickets against Rajasthan Royals in the first match. On the other hand, Punjab had won against Gujarat Titans by 3 wickets in the first match. Punjab team is at fifth position in the points table, while Chennai is at the bottom tenth position. It will be interesting to see how the Chennai team performs against Punjab.
Once again Chennai may have to be deprived of the services of MS Dhoni. Dhoni is undergoing rehab these days due to injury. Even in the first match against Rajasthan, Mahi could not be a part of CSK’s playing 11. It is looking very difficult for Dhoni to play in the second match against Punjab also.
