5. Blood in urine – If blood is seen in the urine or its color becomes pink/brown, then it can be a serious sign. This is a sign of damage to the kidney’s filtering system.

6. Foamy Urine – If there is a lot of foam in the urine, it may mean that protein is being released into the urine, which is a sign of kidney damage.

7.Swelling around the eyes – When the kidneys are unable to stop the protein, the protein starts coming out of the body, causing swelling under the eyes.

8. Swelling in feet and ankles – If there is swelling in the feet, ankles or lower part of the body, it may be due to accumulation of water and salt in the body, which is associated with kidney failure.

9. Loss of appetite – If the kidneys do not function properly, toxins increase in the body, due to which appetite decreases and the person loses appetite.

10 Muscle pain and cramps – Kidneys maintain the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body. When this worsens, muscle pain and cramps occur.

Causes of kidney damage

Wrong eating habits and lack of exercise can also cause kidney disease.

How to keep kidneys healthy?

1. Keep sugar and blood pressure under control – Both of these are the biggest causes of kidney failure.

2. Take a balanced diet – Eat green vegetables, fruits and low salt food.

3. Drink more water – It is very important to keep the body hydrated.

4. Avoid smoking and alcohol – Both of these harm the kidneys and the entire body.

5. Get regular checkups done – If you have diabetes, BP or family history, then it is important to get kidney test done from time to time.
