Israel Lebanon War: A major step has been taken towards reducing the ongoing tension between Israel and Lebanon in the Middle East. On one hand, there is a possibility of second round of talks between Iran and America in Islamabad, while on the other hand, US President Donald Trump has announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. After this, Trump has claimed to stop the 10th war. President Trump said that after talks with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a 10-day ceasefire will come into effect from 5 pm on April 16.

Israel-Lebanon leaders meet after 34 years: Trump

This arrangement comes after more than a month of war between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah. Donald Trump posted on Truth Social and said, ‘I spoke to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. The leaders of both the countries met Foreign Minister Marco Rubio in Washington DC for the first time after 34 years. I directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to work together with Dan Razin Kaine, head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to establish a lasting peace with Israel and Lebanon.

He further said in the post, ‘I will invite Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to the White House. This will be the first meaningful talks between Israel and Lebanon since 1983. Both sides want peace and I believe it will happen and that too very soon.

Lebanese President thanks Donald Trump

Even though America is presenting itself as the mediator of a decisive agreement, the reality seems to be something else. Earlier today, Joseph Aoun had refused to talk directly with Netanyahu. Meanwhile, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun thanked Donald Trump for the ceasefire efforts.

He posted on X and said, thanks to the efforts being made by President Trump to establish a ceasefire in Lebanon and ensure lasting peace and stability. These efforts have paved the way for taking the peace process forward in this region. He wished that these efforts should be continued, so that the conflict can be stopped as soon as possible.
