These days, making a web series has become like making Maggi for some people, add gangsters, add drugs, add abuses, add weak police officers and if you want to give a little different flavor then add a rapper, that’s it, there is an arrangement to fool you again. These people are showing the same story so many times that now even OTT is starting to look like nonsense. The day is not far when people will stop even taking subscription of OTT, because OTT has now been made a dumping ground. This series has also been dumped on Prime Video.
Story
There are two rappers from Punjab, Badnaam and Ozzy, both of whom are fighting among themselves. Like Badshah and Honey Singh, here Honey Singh’s comeback dialogue has also been used, and both of them do drug business. Police is with one and behind the other. There is also a love angle, what else, there is no other story to be told.
how is this series
This series is not bad, but there is nothing new in it. We have seen all this many times, you think we have seen all this in a better way many times, then why see this? There are 8 episodes of this series on Prime Video, each episode is about 30-35 minutes, the actors are almost all good, but what will the actors do when the content itself is not strong, and the actors will work, they do not know what is the role of the other actors in the series. How many of their scenes will be kept, how many will be cut, how will the final product be made? This series shows the same story of Punjab and drugs which we have seen many times and in a better way, here you are not able to connect deeply with the story of any character, you do not feel pity for anyone, you do not feel pity for the characters who are troubled due to drugs. It also seems strange to show a top police officer being weak in this way and working for goons in this way. How can you tarnish the image of the police so much in creative liberty? The raps are fine, you feel like this is a cheap version of Udta Punjab, and you also feel that why are all these stories being made again and again, why is nothing new being made? Why are our OTT subscriptions being misused?
acting
King has been launched from this series, and he is the weakest link of this series. He has come to acting from singing but not with preparation, he has only one expression and he has to understand that only Salman Khan has been able to do this work. King will still have to work hard in acting. Actually this series is of Raashi Khanna, she has given life to the character of a policewoman and she speaks amazing Punjabi, she seems to be from Punjab, and wins hearts with her acting. Palak Tiwari has impressed a lot, she completely justifies this character and gives hope that there is a great actress hidden in her. Lakshyaveer Saran has done a very good job. Shivankit Singh family has brought life to the character of the rapper, he looks like a real rapper, Kritika Bhardwaj has done a great job, she is also very promising. Yograj Singh is great, looking at him you will feel that here too he is training Yuvraj Singh. It is fun to hear abuses from the mouth of Ayesha Raza Mishra, she is rooted in this character.
Writing and Direction
Debojit Das and Antig Joshi have written the story and Himank Gaur has directed it. There is nothing new in the writing, just adding abuses is not newness, the direction is fine.
Overall, there is nothing new in this series, still you can watch it for time pass.
