Actually, during Bihar Assembly elections, Amit Shah had come to Tarapur to address an election rally. During this, he had promised from the stage that ‘Make Samrat ji win with a huge majority, Modi ji will make Samrat ji a big man.’ This statement given by Shah 6 months ago has now become a reality. On Tuesday, he was elected the leader of the NDA legislature party and today (April 15) he took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar.

Samrat Chaudhary’s political journey

Even though Samrat Chaudhary started his political career with RJD, BJP gave him everything that a common political worker desires. Samrat Chaudhary has seen politics closely since his childhood. His father Shakuni Chaudhary has been a big leader of RJD in Bihar. His father Shakuni Chaudhary has been MLA and MP seven times and mother Parvati Devi has been MLA from Tarapur constituency.

Won election from Tarapur of Munger

In the last assembly elections, Samrat Chaudhary also won from Tarapur in Munger. Before BJP, he had also been in RJD and JDU. Samrat Chaudhary entered active politics in 1990 and took oath as Agriculture Minister in the Government of Bihar on 19 May 1999. He contested elections from Parbatta (Assembly constituency) in 2000 and 2010 and was elected MLA. In 2010, he was made the Chief Whip of the opposition party in the Bihar Assembly.

Made a big political identity

At the same time, since the year 2018, he has been identified as a BJP leader. In 2019, when Nityanand Rai was the state president of BJP, Samrat Chaudhary was made the state vice president. After this he became a powerful leader in BJP. When Nitish Kumar broke ties with BJP and formed a grand alliance government with RJD, Samrat Chaudhary got great political recognition. Samrat Chaudhary became the leader of opposition in the Legislative Council. That day, he tied a turban on his head saying that he would remove the turban only after Nitish Kumar was removed from the post of Chief Minister. In the year 2023, Samrat Chaudhary became the state president of BJP, and after this, when Nitish Kumar again returned to NDA, he occupied the chair of Deputy Chief Minister.
