Match fixing in T20 World Cup, allegations against captain only; Leaked audio creates huge stir in cricket world

ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unite has started two major investigations against the Canada cricket team. Such claims have been made in CBC’s documentary ‘Corruption Cricket and Cricket’, which has created a stir in the cricket world. An important part of this investigation is related to a match of T20 World Cup 2026, this tournament was held in India and Sri Lanka. Serious allegations of match fixing have been made during the New Zealand vs Canada match.

The fifth over of New Zealand’s innings is under scrutiny, which was done by Canadian captain Dilpreet Bajwa. Let us tell you that Bajwa was made the captain of the Canada national team just 3 weeks before the start of T20 World Cup 2026. In this over, Bajwa gave a total of 15 runs by bowling no-balls and wide balls. This proved important in the match. Now this over has come under investigation. The ICC is investigating whether this bad bowling was real or whether the captain gave away so many runs deliberately? Is this related to any betting?
