Weather Update: Monsoon has gained momentum across the country. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the southwest monsoon has advanced into many parts of Northeast India on June 7 and has now covered most areas of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Assam. Conditions remain favorable for further advance of Monsoon into some more parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha during the next 3 to 4 days.

Alert of heavy rain in the state during the next seven days

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rain in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and North-Eastern states during the next seven days. At the same time, there is a possibility of extremely heavy rain in some areas of Karnataka between June 8 and 10.

The weather patterns may be seen changing in Delhi-NCR. According to IMD, there will be partly cloudy sky in the capital on June 7 and there is a possibility of light rain with thunder between afternoon and evening. Along with this, strong winds can blow at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour, whose gusts are likely to reach 70 kilometers per hour. This change in weather may give people temporary relief from the heat.

Temperature will rise again in Delhi from June 8

However, the relief is not going to last long. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature will start rising again in Delhi from June 8 and the maximum temperature can reach between 40 to 42 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature is also expected to be around 27 to 30 degrees Celsius. The sky is expected to remain mainly clear for the next few days and the effect of hot winds will increase.

IMD has issued a heat wave warning in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab between June 8 and 11. In such a situation, people have been advised to avoid going out unnecessarily in the afternoon, drink enough water and keep an eye on the latest advice of the Meteorological Department. Talking about Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, it is not yet known when it will rain here.
