Experts of Fortis Hospital said that melon is considered very beneficial especially for women. It contains nutrients that help in improving insulin response and digestion in the body’s metabolism.
Melon helpful in insulin and weight control
According to doctors, an element called inositol is found in melon, which is also known as vitamin B8. Although technically it is not a vitamin but a type of natural sugar alcohol, which helps in improving the functioning of cells in the body. He told that about 500 to 600 mg of inositol is found in one bowl of melon. It improves the functioning of the body like insulin and supports fat metabolism. This is the reason why it is considered beneficial in PCOS, insulin resistance and weight related problems.
