In the 55th match of IPL 2026, Punjab Kings have given a target of 211 runs to Delhi Capitals. Punjab had made a great start. Created history by scoring 50 runs in just 16 balls. Priyansh Arya hit a six in the first ball of the match. Mitchell Starc bowled the first over for Delhi, in which 22 runs were scored. For the first time in IPL, Punjab Kings scored so many runs in the first over. Punjab’s innings stopped at 210 runs. Captain Shreyas Iyer returned unbeaten on 59 runs. Mitchell Starc definitely took two wickets, but also gave away 57 runs in 4 overs.
After losing the toss and opting to bat first, Punjab Kings once again got a stormy start from Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya. Both added 78 runs for the first wicket in 6.5 overs. Prabhasimran was out after scoring 18 runs in 15 balls. Whereas Priyansh Arya played an inning of 56 runs in 33 balls. 2 fours and 6 sixes came from his bat.
Punjab Kings had lost both their openers by the score of 97. From here, Cooper Connolly along with Shreyas Iyer added 83 runs in 52 balls for the third wicket and took the team to a huge score. Cooper Connolly returned to the pavilion after scoring 38 runs in 27 balls with 2 sixes and 3 fours.
Punjab Kings lost the wicket of Marcus Stoinis (1) on the first ball of the 19th over. Mitchell Starc also dismissed Shashank Singh (0) on the next ball. Suryansh Shedge and Shreyas Iyer made an unbroken partnership of 23 runs in 10 balls for the sixth wicket, taking the team beyond 200.
Iyer remained unbeaten on 59 runs in 36 balls with 3 sixes and 5 fours, while Suryansh added 21 runs in 8 balls with 2 sixes and as many fours. For Delhi, Mitchell Starc and Madhav Tiwari took 2 wickets each. Whereas Mukesh Kumar took 1 wicket.
