Petrol-Diesel Price on April 17: Today on Friday, the prices of petrol and diesel remain stable in the country. Along with this, the long-running trend of changes in the prices of petrol and diesel is still going on. Despite fluctuations in crude oil prices in the global market and changes in currency, oil prices at the retail level remain at the same rate. Till now, no significant change has been seen in fuel prices in many big cities.
India’s three major oil marketing companies (OMCs) — Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) — change fuel prices every day in line with global crude oil prices and foreign currency exchange rates. However, prices have remained stable in recent times. The price of petrol in Delhi remains at Rs 94.77 per liter, while the price of diesel is Rs 87.67 per liter. Prices are higher in Mumbai, where petrol is being sold at Rs 103.49 per liter and diesel at around Rs 90.03 per litre.
100% supply guarantee amid crisis
According to ANI report, the Government of India has given priority to the needs of domestic consumers amid energy disruptions caused by the ongoing crisis in West Asia and has ensured the supply of 100 percent piped natural gas (PNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
Speaking at an inter-ministerial briefing on recent developments in West Asia, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing and Oil Refinery) in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said the government has implemented several effective measures to stabilize the energy scenario and maintain essential services.
He said, “As you know, India’s energy supply was also affected due to the West Asia crisis, but the Government of India has taken many effective steps, due to which 100 percent supply has been ensured by giving priority to domestic PNG and LPG consumers. Apart from this, CNG transportation has also been 100 percent ensured.”
