Bankipur is a high profile assembly seat of Patna. By-election is going to be held on this seat and Prashant Kishore himself has fielded himself as a candidate from Jan Suraj. After the election announcement, Prashant Kishore had an exclusive conversation with ABP News on Monday (July 06, 2026). During this he told his agenda.
Prashant Kishore said that this by-election is less of a test for Nitin Naveen and more of a litmus test for Samrat Chaudhary. He said that the 2025 assembly elections will be held by the Emperor. It was not done in the name of Chaudhary but in the name of Nitish Kumar and PM Modi. Nitish Kumar became the CM and later Samrat Chaudhary was made the CM.
PK said that this is the first election when Samrat Chaudhary is the CM. If I win, then this decision of the public will be considered that Samrat Chaudhary is not acceptable to the public as the Chief Minister. This will put pressure on the top leadership of BJP to change the CM here. If I lose, I will accept that the people have accepted the leadership and policies of Samrat Chaudhary.
‘The message will be sent to Bihar that…’
During the conversation, Prashant Kishore said that we are fighting alone, there is no common candidate of the opposition, but a large section of supporters of BJP, JDU, RJD and Congress are supporting me. All of them say that together we will make you win. If I win this by-election, the government will not change, but the politics and state of Bihar will definitely get a new direction. If I win, the message will be sent to Bihar that if the right man, a working man, stands from anywhere, he can win.

Appeal to vote irrespective of caste and religion
He also said that this seat (Bankipur) is a stronghold of BJP, but the people of this area are aware of the problems. Will vote for us. Bankipur assembly constituency is the area of most enlightened and prosperous people of Bihar. Appealing to the people, he said that rise above caste, religion and politicians and vote this time for development and for the better future of your children.
PK expressed confidence in the public
Prashant Kishore said that for the last three years I have been trying to give a new look to Bihar but was not successful in the Bihar Assembly elections. This is an opportunity, Bihar can get a new direction. He expressed confidence that the public will support him.
PK further said that if I win and go to the House, then one public representative of Jansuraj will outweigh the other 242 MLAs. I will become the voice of the people. I will stand with every person who is not getting justice and who is not satisfied with the system.
