NEET Paper Leak Controversy: NTA once again came under the scanner regarding the results of NEET UG 2026 re-exam. A student from Karnataka has alleged that there was a serious error in her OMR answer sheet, due to which she got minus 11 marks instead of the expected marks. The student claims that she should have got around 668 marks, but the results released showed a completely different score. Due to which his hopes of getting a medical seat have been dealt a big blow.
Accused of irregularities in OMR sheet
Bindushri Jagdish Pawar, a resident of Hangal taluk of Haveri district of Karnataka, alleges that the OMR sheet issued by NTA after the examination does not match with the OMR sheet on which she had filled the answers during the examination. He says that there are many such answers recorded in the official records, which he had never chosen. Questioning NTA’s evaluation, the student said that as per the agency’s records, he has answered 41 questions in just one minute, saying that this is not practically possible and shows serious irregularities in the OMR records.
Contacted NTA several times, but did not get any response.
Bindushree says that she had contacted NTA helpline and concerned officials several times regarding this matter. He demanded investigation and correction of the mark sheet, but till now he has not received any reply. The student alleges that despite the complaint, no clear response has been given by NTA.

Other students also raised questions
This case is not alone. In fact, many students and parents who appeared for re-exam in Karnataka have also alleged that there is a difference between the marks calculated by them on the basis of the final answer key and the declared result. Some students claim that their marks were reduced by 10 to 25 marks, which resulted in a difference of thousands of places in their All India Rank and reduced their chances of admission in medical colleges. Some candidates also alleged that the OMR sheets uploaded by NTA did not match their actual answers. Regarding these matters, a demand is also being raised to investigate the fairness of the evaluation process.
What did NTA say?
Amidst these allegations, NTA has rejected some of the claims and said that many of the allegations going on on social media are fake or based on AI generated content. The agency said that the evaluation is done only on the basis of the original OMR sheet. However, there was no official response from NTA in Bindushree’s case.
