If you appeared for the NEET UG 2026 exam held on May 3 and have not yet updated your bank account information for fee refund, then you have one more chance. Keeping in view the convenience of the students, National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the last date for updating bank details from 7th July to 14th July 2026. The agency says that a large number of students have still not been able to complete this process.

Actually, the NEET UG 2026 exam held on May 3 was canceled after the paper leak. After this, NTA decided to refund the examination fees to all the registered candidates. For this, students are being asked to provide their bank account information, so that the refund amount can be sent directly to their account.

However, despite the start of the refund process, till now the students have not updated their bank details as expected. According to NTA, 10,28,223 candidates have successfully updated their bank account details and the process of their refund has also been started. But compared to more than 22 lakh students who appeared in the examination, this number is less than half. This means that about 12 lakh students are still away from this important process.

For this reason, the agency has decided to extend the last date, so that no student is deprived of fee refund. NTA has appealed to all the candidates to verify their bank information as soon as possible.

When can the money come?

According to NTA, the refund amount will be sent to the account of students whose bank details are found correct, within about 7 to 15 days of updating the bank details. Therefore, while applying, it is important to fill the bank account number and other information correctly. Incorrect information may delay refund.
