In the Lord’s ODI match, England batted first and scored 387 runs. In response, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started the innings for Team India and made an opening partnership of 147 runs. This is the biggest partnership for the first wicket for India at Lord’s ground.
In the same match, Jacob Bethel and Ben Duckett made the record of the biggest partnership for the first wicket at Lord’s. There was a partnership of 192 runs between them. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have now come second in this list with a partnership of 147 runs.
Biggest partnership for India at Lord’s
While playing for the Indian team at Lord’s, the biggest partnership for the first wicket is now in the name of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. The Indian record for the biggest partnership at Lord’s for any wicket is in the names of Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni. Dhoni and Raina had made a partnership of 169 runs for the fifth wicket on this ground in the year 2014.
Rohit Sharma’s century
Rohit Sharma completed his century in 84 balls in the third ODI against England. He has become the first Indian batsman to score a century at Lord’s. Before him, the highest score for India in ODI was made by Sourav Ganguly, who played an inning of 90 runs in the year 2004.
