A major helicopter accident took place in Ras Tanura area of Saudi Arabia on Sunday (June 28, 2026), in which 14 people died. This helicopter belonged to Saudi Arabia’s leading petroleum refinery company Aramco, the reasons behind its crash are not yet known.
Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry has expressed concern about this accident and expressed sorrow for the people who died in the accident. Along with this, the Ministry has said that the concerned officials have been sent to investigate this horrific accident.
Energy Ministry expressed condolences to those who died in the accident
According to Saudi Arabia’s official media Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this horrific helicopter accident happened at around 6 am local time on Sunday (June 28, 2026) and the 14 people who died in the accident were all Saudi citizens. However, the reasons behind this accident have not been known yet, but investigation into the matter is ongoing.
At the same time, Saudi Energy Ministry issued an official statement in this regard and said that investigation has been started by the concerned authorities to find out the cause of the accident. The ministry also expressed deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident.
The source responsible in the Ministry of Energy said that on Sunday a deadly plane belonging to the company Saudi Arabia fell on top of the air, and as a result of the accident all the tracks, numbered (14) of them, all of them were citizens of Saudi Arabia, may Allah have mercy on them.

The oil terminal was closed for the last four months

According to the report, this horrific helicopter accident occurred when Saudi Aramco had resumed loading of crude oil from its oil terminal located at Ras Tanura from Friday (June 25, 2026). This activity was halted for the last four months due to the ongoing war and conflict between the US-Israel and Iran in West Asia, which was recently resumed after the signing of a preliminary peace agreement between the two sides of the war.
