At the beginning of trading, Sensex started trading at the level of 76646 with a big fall of 850 points. At the same time, Nifty slipped 265 points and opened at the level of 23914. Today the banking sector is under maximum pressure. Till now it has fallen by 1.5 percent. Shares of Adani Energy Solutions, Zomato and PFC & REC are seen falling in early trade.
Why did the market fall?
- Crude oil prices crossed $120 per barrel today, creating panic among investors.
- The US Federal Reserve did not make any changes in interest rates. There is an atmosphere of fear among investors due to this strict stance of the Fed and the fear of global recession.
- The stock market will remain closed tomorrow on 1st May on the occasion of Maharashtra Day. After this there will be holiday on Saturday and Sunday also. In view of the long holidays, investors are reducing their positions.

Asian indices opened lower on Thursday morning due to overnight decline on Wall Street and rising crude oil prices. There was a decline in Japanese markets when trading started after the holidays. The benchmark Nikkei 225 lost 0.91%, while the Topix slipped 1.48%.
South Korea’s Kospi was up 0.36%, while the small-cap Kosdaq was down 0.25%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index futures were last trading at 25,729, while the index closed at 26,111.84 on Wednesday.

The S&P 500 declined marginally by 0.04% to close at 7,135.95, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.04% to 24,673.24.
