Crude oil prices fell by 4 percent today due to news of progress on peace talks between America and Iran. This provided support to the stock market. On top of that, today the Indian Rupee opened strong against the US Dollar at the level of 95.04 per dollar as against Monday’s closing price of 95.28. This also supported the sentiments of investors.

Asian indices started with gains on Wednesday morning. After the expectations of a peace agreement between Iran and America, the enthusiasm among investors is at its peak due to the fall in the prices of crude oil and the rise in AI shares. During this period, South Korea’s Kospi reached its new all-time high record with a gain of 4.50 percent.

At the same time, a decline of 0.15 percent was seen in small-cap Kosdaq. The futures of Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index were at 25860, while its previous closing was at 25898.61. The stock market in Japan is closed today due to public holiday.

American stock market

On Tuesday night, a spectacular rise was seen in the American stock market and the indices closed at record high levels. There was a rise in the market on the basis of fall in crude oil prices and strong corporate results. The S&P 500 gained 58.47 points, or 0.81 percent, to close at a new all-time high of 7259.22. Nasdaq Composite also jumped 258.32 points and closed at a new record level of 25326.17. At the same time, Dow Jones also closed at the level of 49298.25 with a gain of 365.35 points.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures are trading 1.20 percent lower at $ 101.05 per barrel. Brent crude futures were seen trading at 108.69 with a decline of 1.13 percent this morning. At the same time, the prices of crude oil on COMEX also fell by 1.15 percent to Rs 101.09 per barrel.

According to preliminary data available on NSE, on Tuesday May 05, 2026, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 3,519.06 crore. On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) supported the market by buying shares worth Rs 2,756.56 crore.
