Subhendu Adhikari will be the CM of West Bengal

If any leader has increased his stature rapidly in the politics of West Bengal in the last few years, then that name is Shubhendu Adhikari. Today, he is not only the most prominent face of BJP in the state, but is also going to become the new Chief Minister of the state. In Kolkata, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday (8 May 2026) announced the name of Shubhendu Adhikari as the next Chief Minister of the state. No one needs to be afraid in Bengal: Shubhendu

Subhendu Adhikari expressed his gratitude to all the BJP workers who worked day and night to achieve such a mandate. He also remembered the 321 BJP workers allegedly killed during the TMC rule. He also said, ‘BJP will work to fulfill the promises made to the people of Bengal in its manifesto. The BJP government in Bengal will work hard to fulfill the dreams of the people of West Bengal.

Shubhendu Adhikari said that we will stand up to the expectations of the people and now no one needs to be afraid in Bengal. Will bring back the pride of Bengal. The new government will be with you. Will fulfill all the guarantees of PM. I will give less speeches in Bengal, but work more.

Infiltration is going to be possible: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, ‘Today we have a government in Tripura, we have a government in Assam and now our government has been formed in Bengal also. Infiltration and cow smuggling is going to be impossible. With determination, the Government of Bengal and the Government of India will convert this border into an impregnable fortress of national security. Out of 23 administrative districts, there are 9 districts where Didi’s account has not even been opened. The mess has been cleared.

He said, ‘I have never seen such a huge mandate because when the government works, it gets the mandate, but where there is an opposition party and the leader of the opposition party is not given a chance to speak, then the ruling party’s zero votes in 9 districts is only the grace of the people and God.’
