Sleep Problems: In today’s time, most people’s lives revolve around mobile, laptop and TV. Especially people working in offices sit in front of computer screens from morning to evening. Even after the work is over, the mind does not get rest because after reaching home the mobile comes in hand again. Some look at social media, some watch videos and some keep chatting till late night.
Gradually this habit starts tiring the body from inside. A person thinks that he is just using the phone, but his eyes and brain are working continuously. This is the reason why one cannot sleep quickly at night and as soon as one wakes up in the morning the body feels broken. Many people ignore it considering it a small thing, but this bad habit becomes a big problem in the future.
How screen light becomes the enemy of sleep
The blue light emitted from mobiles and laptops makes our brain realize that it is still day. In such a situation, the body is not able to go into “sleep mode” properly. Usually, at night the body produces a hormone called melatonin, which helps in inducing sleep. However, when screens are watched for a long time before sleeping, this hormone starts getting produced less. This is the reason why a person lies down on the bed, but keeps tossing and turning for a long time. If this happens continuously, then the body does not get complete rest, due to which it becomes common to feel heavy in the head, irritation in the eyes and irritability on small things the next day.

Poor sleep cycle weakens both body and mind.
When sleep is not complete, its effect is not limited to facial fatigue only. Due to this, the strength of the body gradually starts decreasing, due to which initial signs start appearing like being lethargic throughout the day, not feeling interested in work and getting distracted again and again. Due to lack of proper sleep at night, many people keep yawning while sitting in the office, because their brain is not able to rest properly. Besides, due to continuous poor sleep, dark circles also start appearing under the eyes. Not only this, many researches have also revealed that prolonged poor sleep cycle can affect the heart, brain and mental health. Some people are unable to wake up in the morning after using their phones till late at night, due to which their entire routine gets spoiled. This is why doctors also recommend reducing screen time before sleeping.
Change these small habits from today
If you too are troubled by the habit of using your mobile till late night, then you can help yourself by making some simple changes, like try to stay away from the phone and laptop at least an hour before sleeping. Keep dim lighting at night and avoid scrolling social media unnecessarily. Apart from this, if due to work one has to spend the whole day on the screen, then it is very important to give rest to the eyes in between. Every 20 to 30 minutes, look away from the screen for a few seconds. Also, reading a book, listening to light music or spending some time with family before sleeping also calms the mind. Remember, good sleep not only gives rest but also gives new strength to the entire body. Therefore, every doctor advises that every person should take 7 to 8 hours of sleep in a day. In such a situation, start improving your sleep cycle today itself, otherwise small carelessness can gradually cost your health.
