Swiggy-Zomato to Shut Down in Bengaluru: Food delivery platforms like Swiggy and Zomato are a great help for those who live away from home and do not know how to cook. Or whenever there is no time, food can be ordered from Swiggy and Zomato. This facility of ordering food from any restaurant and hotel while sitting at home is soon going to be closed in Bengaluru. Hotel and restaurant operators have taken this step in view of many problems.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, hotel and restaurant owners of Bengaluru have decided to take strict action against food delivery platforms like Swiggy and Zomato. The Restaurant Association says that if no solution is found to their long-standing problems, then after August 15, many restaurants in the city may stop taking orders from these platforms.

There are complaints from Swiggy- Zomato
The Hotel Association of Bengaluru has many complaints against Swiggy and Zomato, due to which this decision is being taken. According to the association, most of the complaints are coming about Swiggy, although Zomato is also the target of restaurant owners. In the coming time, new food delivery platforms can increase competition for these two big platforms by providing good services in Bengaluru.
What are the demands of restaurant owners?
The Restaurant Association of Bengaluru has demanded more transparency in payment and billing from the delivery platform. Their main demands are as follows:
- After customer’s complaint, deducting money without giving proper reason should be stopped.
- The restaurant should get compensation if the order is canceled after the food is ready.
- A statement with complete payment information should be given, so that every deduction can be known.
- Such terms and conditions should be removed which are only in favor of the platform.
- A separate relationship manager should be kept for the problems of the restaurant.
- Discount and promotional campaigns should not be run without the permission of the restaurant.

The association will give a written complaint
Bruhat Bengaluru Hotels Association (BBHA) and other organizations have put forth their demands regarding complaints related to Swiggy and Zomato. The association will soon give a written complaint to both the companies and demand written answers and improvements from them.
