Brajesh Pathak also mentioned the land allotted for the construction of the mosque in Dhannipur and the donations collected at that time. He said that till date no one has answered what happened to that donation. Shri Mahant Suryamuni of Bada Udasin Akhara expressed serious concern over this entire incident and said that filing a case against a supreme religious leader like Shankaracharya is not a matter of just one person, but it is a matter related to the sentiments of Sanatan Dharma.

He said in clear words that if there is any allegation against any religious leader, be it Shankaracharya, Mandaleshwar or Mahamandaleshwar, then there should be a fair and transparent investigation. Any kind of haste without concrete facts and thorough investigation affects not only the Sant Samaj but also the faith of crores of Sanatan followers.

‘This lawsuit is motivated by hatred’

Shri Mahant Surya said that in the Sanatan tradition all four Shankaracharyas are considered pillars of religion, and any allegation against them has a wide-ranging impact. Therefore, it is necessary that this matter be investigated impartially and under the constitutional process, so that the truth can come out and the dignity of justice is maintained.

Former chairman of Idgah Committee Haji Naeem Qureshi has also given his reaction in this matter. He said that Shankaracharya is not an ordinary person, but a respected religious guru of the country. He alleged that filing of such a case seems to be motivated by malice. Qureshi said that the Constitution of India gives freedom to every citizen to express his views and taking such action against any religious leader without proper investigation is against the spirit of the Constitution.

Demand for thorough investigation of facts

He said that Shankaracharya is a respected personality not only for Hindus but for all communities including Muslims. If there is any kind of dispute or allegation, then first a thorough investigation of the facts should have been done and only then legal action should have been taken. He also said that any kind of religious intolerance or hasty action in the country can affect social harmony. In such sensitive matters, balance, dialogue and fair process are the real identity of democracy.

The ongoing tension between Jyotishpeeth’s Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati and the state government does not seem to be subsiding at present. Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, challenging the claim of Animal Husbandry Minister Dharampal Singh of the state government in which he had termed the incidents of cow slaughter as an illusion and untruth.

In fact, recently Animal Husbandry Minister Dharampal Singh had declared the cow progeny completely safe in the state and termed the incidents of cow slaughter as ‘illusion’ and ‘untruth’. Now Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati ‘1008’ of Jyotishpeeth has taken a strong stand on this claim. He has written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding permission to the representatives of ‘Jyotishpeeth’ for independent investigation and ‘collection of evidence’ to prove the claims of state power on the ground.

‘There should be no hesitation in scientific testing’

Shankaracharya ji has made it clear that if the government’s faith is unshakeable, then there should be no hesitation in conducting scientific tests for transparency. Shankaracharya has said in strong words in his message, “If the claims of the government are true, then there should not be a delay of even a few moments in granting this permission. Not granting the permission would automatically prove that the statement of the Animal Husbandry Minister is just an attempt to cover up the truth.”

‘Protection of cow progeny should be visible on the ground’

Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarananda believes that the protection of cow progeny should not be seen only in paper figures but on the ground. If the government cooperates, it will not take time for milk to become milk and water to become water. I have lived a theistic life for 25 years, being an introvert and continuing my practice as before, I will continue to do so now, whenever and wherever there is a need, irrespective of any party or any specific group or like-minded people, I will share my knowledge.

What did Mamta say?

Mamta Kulkarni raised many questions on the role and conduct of Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand on 25 January 2026. Mamta had also raised questions on the appointment process and the need to take bath in the palanquin, after which it was decided to expel Mamta from the Akhara. He had asked questions to Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand that who appointed him as Shankaracharya and what was the need to carry a palanquin in a crowd of crores.

He further said that Magh Mela is only for name, chanting and penance. It is said here that an arrogant person can never become a saint. Even in pilgrimages, some people go with their own agenda. I feel that pilgrimage should not be an agenda of anyone’s ego or prestige. This is the place of three sacred rivers, the place of salvation.

Coming to Triveni Sangam is a big blessing in itself – Baba Ramdev

On the experience of bathing in Sangam, he said, “Bathing and charity have special significance in Triveni Sangam. Coming to Triveni Sangam is a big blessing in itself. Divine order, sacred philosophy and spiritual atmosphere prevail at Sangam Ghat. He said that now the entry of Sanatani forces is going to be in Bihar politics and the voice of cow devotees will reach the assembly.

The foundation of Sanatan Dharma told cow protection

Addressing the gathering, Shankaracharya said that protecting Sanatan Dharma is possible only when Gau Mata is protected. He described Gau Mata as not just the subject of faith but the foundation stone of Indian society and culture.

He appealed to the people to vote only those candidates who are clear and determined on the issue of cow protection in the upcoming elections.

Shankaracharya told that he and his followers went to the offices of several national political parties in Delhi and questioned him whether he was in favor of declaring Gau Mata as a nation mother. But so far no party has cleared its stand on this. He said that when political parties kept silence on this serious subject, now we have to get into the field under compulsion.

Elections will be contested in all assembly seats

During the program, Shankaracharya announced that cow devotees will be fielded in all the assembly seats of Bihar. He said that after completion of the nomination process, a list of candidates will be formally released.

At the same time, he also made it clear that he himself will remain active in the election campaign and appeal to the people to vote for the cow devotees to declare Gau Mata as the mother.
