Bihar’s Women and Child Development Corporation (WCDC) has launched the Civil Services Incentive Scheme, under which a lump sum incentive amount of Rs 50,000 will be given to eligible female candidates. Under this, this amount will be given to all the female candidates who pass the 71st preliminary examination of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). Its objective is to increase and encourage the candidature of women in Bihar Public Service Commission. However, this scheme is only for women candidates coming from general category and economically weaker section (EWS), which is being run under the Social Welfare Department of Bihar Government.

How does the Civil Services Incentive Scheme work?

To increase the participation of women, Bihar Government has started Civil Services Incentive Scheme in entire Bihar, under which an incentive amount of Rs 50,000 will be provided to eligible women candidates of General Category and Economically Weaker Section (EWS). But only that female candidate will get this amount, who has passed the 71st preliminary competitive examination conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The objective of this scheme is to help those women candidates who have passed the preliminary examination but are not able to appear in the further examination due to some reason or lack of funds. Because when a candidate gets selected in the prelims of the Civil Services Competitive Examination, the expenses incurred in reaching the mains examination and interview increase a lot. To deal with this, Bihar Government has started “Civil Services Incentive Scheme”.

How to apply for Civil Services Incentive Scheme?

The Civil Services Incentive Scheme has been made completely online, which means that eligible women candidates can apply through online mode.
Eligible women candidates can apply through the official website of the corporation wcdc.bihar.gov.in/Careers till 31 December 2025.

Documents required at the time of application

• While filling the form it is mandatory to upload some key documents online. These include:
• passport size photo,
• Signature,
• Self Attested BPSC Admit Card,
• Aadhar card,
• residence certificate,
• Caste certificate in case of belonging to backward class category,
• Bank passbook or canceled cheque.
• To avail the benefits of this scheme, it is mandatory for women candidates to have their bank account seeded with Aadhaar.
• The applying candidate will also have to give an affidavit issued by a Judicial Magistrate of the first class, in which it is written that the candidate is not working in any government funded institution.

A BPSC teacher was shot dead in Bihar’s Araria district while she was going to school on a scooter. The deceased teacher has been identified as Shivani Verma, a resident of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. Shivani was 27-28 years old and was living in a rented house in Araria. People present nearby told that two masked miscreants came next to their scooter and shot Shivani on her temple.

Shivani Verma, who was driving the scooter, fell down as soon as the bullet hit her. The people present there took him to Araria District Hospital, but he could not be saved. Doctors declared Shivani dead.

The motive for the murder has not been revealed yet

Shivani Verma was a teacher in a school located in Narpatganj in Araria district. On Wednesday (December 3) at around 8.30 pm, when she was going from Forbesganj to Narpatganj school, miscreants shot her dead on the way. The reasons for the murder have not been revealed yet. At present, the police is investigating the matter and will issue an official statement after collecting some information.

The miscreants ran away after shooting

People present at the spot at the time of the incident said that they saw Shivani falling from the scooter. She was lying soaked in blood on the road. Two people immediately loaded her in the car and took her to the hospital, but Shivani was declared dead by the doctors. After shooting, the miscreants fled on the same bike.

It is being told that Shivani had joined Araria school as a employed teacher only a few months ago. After the incident, sensation has spread in the entire area. Police are present at the scene and are trying to collect evidence. Efforts have also been made to contact Shivani’s family. At present, the police has not given any information in this matter. Bihar Public Service Commission has released the result of 71st preliminary examination. This time a total of 14,261 candidates have passed the examination, out of which 13,368 candidates have been successful for General Administrative Services, while 893 candidates have qualified for the post of Financial Administrative Officer.

About 4.71 lakh candidates had applied for this examination. Out of these, about 3.57 lakh candidates downloaded the admit card and 3.16 lakh candidates appeared in the examination. BPSC 71st Prelims Exam 2025: The time for the 71st preliminary examination of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has come. This exam will be held tomorrow i.e. on 13 September 2025. 5 years ban on misconduct
