Delhi Capitals has appointed Jemimah Rodrigues as the new captain. In WPL 2026, the command of Delhi team will be in the hands of Rodrigues and she will replace Australian veteran player Meg Lanning as captain. 25-year-old Jemimah Rodrigues is India’s star batsman, who contributed significantly in making Team India the world champion in 2025. He played a historic inning of 127 runs against Australia in the semi-finals. Jemimah Rodrigues was retained by Delhi Capitals for Rs 2.2 crore before the WPL 2026 mega auction.

On being appointed the new captain of Delhi Capitals, Jemimah Rodrigues said, “It is an honor to be appointed the captain of Delhi Capitals.
