Rishabh Pant, IPL 2027: Rishabh Pant, who is playing the role of captain for Lucknow Super Giants, can once again become a part of Delhi Capitals in the next IPL i.e. 2027. Kuldeep Yadav can become a part of Lucknow in place of Pant. It was said in the reports that this exchange might have been done through trade. Pant can become a part of his old team again.
In the report of Times of India, there was talk about the exchange of Pant with Kuldeep Yadav. Let us tell you that Lucknow had bought Pant in the mega auction for 2025 for a price of Rs 27 crore. With this Pant became the most expensive player in the history of the tournament.
After buying for a huge amount, the franchise had also given the responsibility of captaincy to Pant. However, Pant could not perform as per his value in both batting and captaincy departments. In the 2025 season, he scored 269 runs for Lucknow. Then in the next season i.e. 2026, Pant scored 312 runs.
Pant left captaincy after 2026
Rishabh Pant had decided to step down from the captaincy after Lucknow Super Giants were eliminated from the playoff race in IPL 2026. The franchise had shared the information about Pant leaving the captaincy while sharing an official release. It was told that Pant had requested the franchise to remove him from the responsibility of captaincy and the team accepted it.
KL Rahul can become the captain of Delhi
Apart from the exchange, captaincy was also discussed in the report. It was told that wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul can be given the command of Delhi. After Pant’s departure, Indian all-rounder Akshar Patel was made the captain. Akshar’s captaincy appeared to be a complete failure.
The thing to note is that till now no official information has been revealed by the franchise regarding the exchange of Pant and Kuldeep.
