Delhi Excise Department Revenue: The Excise Department of Delhi Government has earned huge income from tax on liquor in the first quarter (April-June) of the financial year.

According to the information, the Excise Department has recorded a revenue of about Rs 1,038 crore during April to June in the financial year 2026-27, which is 17% more than the same period last year. Officials say that a major reason for this jump in revenue is the greater availability of different brands of liquor in government shops this year. Last year the earning figure was Rs 885 crore.

Regarding this, an official said, “Excise revenue has increased by about 17% in the current quarter of this year and has reached Rs 1,038 crore, whereas it was Rs 885 crore in the same period last year.”

Officials say that against the total revenue collection of about Rs 7,148 crore in 2025-26, the target of total excise revenue for 2026-27 has been fixed at Rs 7,200 crore. He hopes that by increasing the number of registered brands, customers will get more choices at stores and this will help Delhi regain the market share it has lost over the years. Let us tell you that the share of national and international brands on government contracts in Delhi has increased to 54%, which was only 24% last year.
