A conversation that started during a normal cab ride caught the attention of millions of people on the internet. After watching the video, people are praising the female driver and many people are also telling her their motivation.

A cab ride became a memorable experience

When Mahek Dhameja, a resident of Delhi, booked an Uber cab, she expected it to be just a journey home, but during this journey, she met female cab driver Chameli Haldar, whose story impressed her a lot. Mahek shared the video of this entire experience on social media. It was written in the beginning of the video, I found the sweetest female Uber driver. He said that now he has learned to face such situations and his confidence does not diminish due to anyone’s words.

don’t drive cabs at night

While talking in the video, the issue of women’s safety also came up. According to him, it cannot be considered safe for women to travel late at night in Delhi-NCR.

The family protested first

Chameli Haldar told that when she had decided to drive a cab, her husband and many family members were against it. They were worried about his safety and this profession, but with time when he proved himself, the family’s thinking changed. Today the situation is that the family is proud of his achievements. Chameli says that she is the first woman in her family to get a driving license and start driving a car with confidence.

Anti Women Skew: We have heard many times around the world about women’s protection and giving equal rights to women. But when we see any report or data, we come to know about the ground reality. As a recent report has revealed, the number of male employees is more than that of female employees in the offices of Delhi.

What does the report say?
Actually, recently a report of National Statistics Office (NSO) has come out. According to this report, small businesses of Delhi are earning well, but the participation of women in these businesses is still very low. It has been said in the report that only 13.5% of the people working in such small businesses of Delhi, which are not registered as companies, are women. Which means that out of every 10 employees, about 9 are men and only 1 is woman.

Also read: Richest Cities List: Bengaluru-Delhi number-1 in earning and Chandigarh ahead in spending, see the list of richest cities of the country.

This information is given in the report ‘Urban Unincorporated Enterprises Landscape: ASUSE 2025- Insights from Million Plus Cities. In this report, small shopkeepers, traders, repair shops, small manufacturers and functional businesses of 46 cities with a population of more than 10 lakh were studied. Big companies, government institutions and big factories were not included in this.

Women do not even have ownership rights
According to the report, there are about 5.92 lakh such small businesses in Delhi, in which about 13.94 lakh people work. Whereas in the entire National Capital Region (NCT), their number is 10.34 lakh businesses and up to 22.31 lakh. If we talk about becoming business owners, the number of women in this matter is also less. Only 16.2% of small businesses in Delhi are in the name of women, while more than 80% of the business owners are men.

However, NSO has also said about this report that these figures have been released on the basis of sample survey, hence they should be seen as estimates only.

After the notice sent by the Government of India to the messaging app WhatsApp, the company has now come into action. Earlier, the government had issued a notice regarding the username feature. Team Meta has met ministry officials in this regard.

During the meeting, the officials have demanded a detailed report to Meta regarding the government’s concerns and thinking related to this feature. Also, Meta has been given three days time to submit the report in this matter. Meta has said that it will submit its reply to the ministry within the stipulated time limit.

What is the whole matter?

Actually, the whole uproar is about the username feature in WhatsApp. Username Best Account is to be rolled out on Meta’s instant messaging app. For this the company gave the option to reserve the username. The company said that it will roll out the username feature by the end of this year.

Also read: RSS’s first statement on theft of offerings to Ayodhya Ram temple, Dattatreya Hosabale said – ‘Those who will be found guilty…’

Government has sent notice to Meta

The government had also sent a notice to Meta regarding this feature on Wednesday. Also instructions were given to roll it out. Apart from this, the company was asked to reply within 3 days. The government fears the danger of cyber fraud regarding the username based feature. People can get confused by the username. Also, by using fake name, one can commit crimes like fraud and deceive people.

Identification of user based account may be difficult

Identification of username based account can be difficult. Also, by using similar usernames, people can cause harm by committing cyber fraud. Apart from this, there will be a risk of fake identity. Cyber thugs can take advantage of this feature. In this the difference between real and fake will be erased. The risk of copying brands and celebrities will also increase. Spam messages will increase. This can be a challenge for an investigating agency like ED. The risk of social engineering attacks will also increase.

Here, Meta’s messaging company WhatsApp has said that the usernames of celebrities and popular people will be reserved in the public space. This is an optional service.

Cockroach Janata Party is continuously agitating in the national capital Delhi regarding Jantar Mantar paper leak and other matters related to students. Now this movement has started its next phase. The government has accepted the demand for resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. No response has been given. In such a situation, to fuel the movement, climate change activist Sonam Wangchuk has sat on an indefinite hunger strike on Sunday, June 28. This information has been given by CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke himself.

What allegations did Deepke make against Delhi Police?

But meanwhile, he has accused Delhi Police through a post on social media. Deepke wrote on X that after Sonam Wangchuk started the hunger strike, Delhi Police has closed the cleanliness facility at Jantar Mantar. There is no water connection and no arrangement for cleanliness.

He said that despite repeated requests and telling about the concerns related to Wanguchak ji’s age and health, the police is not cooperating. We suspect that other similar basic facilities will also be closed.

Deepke has asked in his post that what is Delhi Police trying to do?

Sonam Wangchuk starts hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, demands resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan

Reached Rajghat before starting the hunger strike.

Before Wangchuk started the hunger strike, Deepke had given information in a sequential manner by making several posts. He had said that many farmer leaders from UP, Haryana and Punjab are being placed under house arrest so that they cannot join us at Jantar Mantar.

Apart from this, Deepke had told that he and Sonam went to Rajghat with Wanguchak. Where he took blessings from Mahatma Gandhi. Wangchuk has started a hunger strike demanding justice for the students and resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.

A major incident related to Indigo airline has come to light on Friday (June 26, 2026) at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in the country’s capital Delhi, where passengers are accusing the airline of keeping them captive inside the plane and during this time many passengers present in the flight have also complained of suffocation.

Actually, passengers had boarded Indigo flight 6E-2614, which flew from Delhi to Ranchi from Terminal-2 of Delhi Airport, but the plane did not take off for a long time. During this period, even the AC was not switched on in the flight cabin. Due to which many passengers sitting in the plane started suffocating.

What allegations did passengers make against Indigo Airline?

The passengers allege that they were kept inside the plane without AC for more than an hour. Passengers say that whenever they complained about this to the cabin crew, they were repeatedly asked to wait for just five more minutes, but then there was no change in the situation and due to cold and lack of air in the closed cabin of the plane, people started suffocating.

What did the airline say after the incident?

According to sources, Indigo Airline said that there was some technical glitch inside the plane and the ACs were not working. Therefore, now the flight has been changed for the safe flight of the passengers and the passengers will be taken to Ranchi by another aircraft of the airline at 6 pm.

Delhi Excise Department Revenue: The Excise Department of Delhi Government has earned huge income from tax on liquor in the first quarter (April-June) of the financial year.

According to the information, the Excise Department has recorded a revenue of about Rs 1,038 crore during April to June in the financial year 2026-27, which is 17% more than the same period last year. Officials say that a major reason for this jump in revenue is the greater availability of different brands of liquor in government shops this year. Last year the earning figure was Rs 885 crore.

What is the total target of revenue collection?

Regarding this, an official said, “Excise revenue has increased by about 17% in the current quarter of this year and has reached Rs 1,038 crore, whereas it was Rs 885 crore in the same period last year.”

Officials say that against the total revenue collection of about Rs 7,148 crore in 2025-26, the target of total excise revenue for 2026-27 has been fixed at Rs 7,200 crore. He hopes that by increasing the number of registered brands, customers will get more choices at stores and this will help Delhi regain the market share it has lost over the years. Let us tell you that the share of national and international brands on government contracts in Delhi has increased to 54%, which was only 24% last year.

How did the earnings increase?

Earlier, due to non-availability of selected brands in Delhi, customers used to go to Noida and Gurugram. Due to more choice of liquor there and better price Buyers were leaving the capital and going there.

Last year, the pace of registration had slowed down due to uncertainty regarding the implementation of the policy, but now with the government’s decision to extend the excise policy for one more year, the uncertainty in the market has ended and companies have also increased the pace of registration of their brands. This has again given a boost to the efforts to increase the variety of liquor in the retail market of Delhi.

All four government agencies of Delhi (DSSIDC, DTTDC, DSCSC and DCCWS) have opened many big modern walk-in stores, where customers can easily get liquor of many premium brands.
