RVS Mani, a former official of the Union Home Ministry, has claimed that Pakistani cricketers used to smuggle drugs during the tour of India, he also took the names of Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif, who were also caught on the charges of this. Then PCB had banned Akhtar for 2 years and Asif for 1 year. The officer says that he used to bring drugs with him not for his own consumption but for smuggling. He also accused Pakistan cricketers and officials of drug smuggling.

RVS Mani claimed in an interview with ANI that the plan was to present the narrative of the Mumbai attacks as Hindu terrorism. He said that if Mumbai Police officer Tukaram Omble had not caught Ajmal Kasab alive then it would have been called an attack by a Hindu. He said that Ajmal was wearing a Kalawa in his hand.

Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, one of Mexico’s biggest drug traffickers, known as El Mencho, was killed. Mexico’s Defense Ministry said he was injured in a military operation in the western state of Jalisco. He was being taken to Mexico City by air ambulance, but he died on the way.

According to Reuters report, violence spread in many states after the news of El Mencho’s death. In many places including Jalisco, vehicles were set on fire and armed people closed the roads. In a viral video on social media, scenes of smoke and stampede were seen in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. Burning vehicles were also seen on the roads in Guadalajara. During this time, Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro appealed to people to stay in their homes.

El Mencho was the leader of CJNG

El Mencho was the head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). In the last ten years, this cartel had become the most powerful criminal gang in Mexico. This gang used to smuggle drugs like cocaine, meth and fentanyl to America. America had announced a reward of 15 million dollars for the arrest of El Mencho. Last year, the Trump administration had declared CJNG a foreign terrorist organization.

America’s response

US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau called El Mencho’s death a major achievement for the US, Mexico and Latin America. In view of the violence, America has advised its citizens in the states of Jalisco, Tamaulipas, Michoacán, Guerrero and Nuevo Leon to stay in their homes. Canada has also asked its citizens to be cautious.

Mexican government was under pressure

This military action took place at a time when Mexico was under pressure from the US to take strict action against drug trafficking. Under the leadership of El Mencho, CJNG had traveled from a regional gang to an international network. This gang was notorious for heavy weapons and open violence. After his death, the question is now arising whether the cartel will weaken or violence may increase further under the new leadership.

STF head constable and one person have been seriously injured in this attack. After the incident, both the accused smugglers have absconded, in search of whom STF and local police teams are conducting intensive operations in the area.

According to sources, STF had already recovered half of the goods from the smugglers below the village, while the remaining goods were present in the upper part of the village. To collect the remaining goods, Head Constable Bhupendra Singh Martolia had gone towards the upper village along with a person (Mukbir/local).

suddenly started firing from the roof of the house

On reaching the top, the STF team asked the smugglers to come down, but both the smugglers got into a tussle and an altercation started. As the altercation escalated, one of the two smugglers suddenly started firing from the roof of the house. In the firing, one person was shot in the jaw, while Head Constable Bhupendra Singh Martolia was seriously injured after being shot in the stomach.

Both the accused smugglers fled from the spot

After the incident, the injured were immediately brought down and taken to Krishna Hospital in Haldwani, where Head Constable Martolia is undergoing treatment. The second injured has also been given medical assistance. After the firing, both the accused smugglers fled from the spot. STF and police teams conducted a search operation in the surrounding forests and villages at night, but till now no trace of them has been found.

This incident raises questions about how fast the drug trafficking network is becoming active in the hilly areas and how smugglers are no longer hesitating to even attack the police. At present STF is busy searching for both the absconding accused.

Saudi Arabia sentenced 8 people to death on Saturday. In this, seven more people were hanged in the case of killing their mother in cases related to drug smuggling. This information was given by the government news agency Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

According to the SPA, four Somali and three Ethiopian citizens were sentenced to death on charges of “Hashish’s smuggling” in the southern region Najraran. All were convicted in the case related to drugs.

So far 230 people have been hanged in 2025
According to the AFP report, since the beginning of 2025, 230 people have been hanged in Saudi Arabia so far. Of these, 154 people have been sentenced to death in cases related to drugs.

2024 records can also leave 2025
According to experts, the hanging speed in 2025 can cross the 2024 figures. Last year, 338 people were sentenced to death. This increase is believed to be the result of the “War against drugs” launched in 2023.

Fans increased due to “War on Drugs” started from 2023
Analysts believe that the number of fans has increased due to the “War on Drugs” campaign against drugs. Under this campaign started in 2023, the arrested people are now being punished.

What happened so far on the hanging of drugs
2019-2022: There was a ban on hanging in drug cases for almost three years.
2022: 19 people were hanged in drug cases.
2023: Only 2 people were hanged.
2024: 117 people were punished in case of drugs.
2025: So far, 154 fans have been done only in drug cases.

Criticism and government side
Human rights activists are criticizing Saudi Arabia’s policy of constantly hanging. He says that it damages the image of the country’s “open and tolerant society”, which is part of the Vision 2030 scheme of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. At the same time, the Saudi government says that “death punishment is necessary to maintain public system and it is given only after the final appeal is rejected.”

Project pelican: An international drug and terrorist network has been exposed under a major action “Project Pelican” by Canada’s Peel Regional Police. The wires of this network are associated with Khalistan supporters, Mexican Drug Cartel and ISI. Investigation has revealed that the money earned from drugs was being invested in anti -India activities.

Smuggling was being done through America-Canada trucking route
This investigation started in June 2024. The network was smuggling cocaine using the American-Canadian commercial trucking route. By November, many persons, truck companies and godowns were marked. With the help of Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and America’s Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the case gained momentum.

The biggest drug seizure ever
A total of 479 kg ‘brick’ cocaine was seized from several places between February and May 2025, which is priced at around 47.9 million $ 47.9 million (about Rs 400 crore) in the international market.

50 kg cocaine point on Edward’s Blue Water Bridge.

Many seizures were also taken in the Greater Toronto area.

Also two illegal loaded semi-automatic pistols were also seized

ISI and Khalistan Connection
According to sources, the entire network was supported by Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. ISI was using Khalistan supporters in smuggling Mexican cocaine. As well as heroin grown in Afghanistan is also being spread by ISI. The amount received from this smuggling was being used for anti -India activities, such as demonstrations, demonstrations and weapons.

Clues related to previous cases
Earlier in December 2024, two Indian -origin Canadian citizens were arrested with 1,000 pounds of cocaine in the US state of Illinois. This matter was the beginning of the expose of this big network. Ontario Solicitor General Michael S. Karzner praised this success of the peel police and said: “Project Pelican is proof of what they can do for the safety of the society when the police get the necessary resources and support.”
