The European Union has expressed concern over the increasing tension between America and Iran. European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas said that the increasing military tension in the Middle East is raising serious concerns for the world. Kallas said the growing tensions between the United States and America have made the already strained efforts to end the war more difficult.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Vice President of the European Commission also said that Iran’s attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait cannot be accepted at all. Under the MoU, Iran promised to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, but recent attacks on ships near the strait violate its promise and threaten to hinder the resumption of energy supplies, he said, reminding Tehran of its promise to maintain open sea lanes. Freedom of navigation must remain unhindered, he said.

EU will hold meeting with Gulf countries

After talks between US and Iran stalled, EU will hold meetings with Gulf countries. Kaja Kallas further said that on the coming Monday (July 13), foreign ministers of the European Union will meet with their counterparts from the Gulf countries to discuss how to work together to maintain freedom of navigation in the Red Sea along the Strait of Hormuz.

‘Now it’s all over..’ – Trump

US President Donald Trump, while talking to journalists during the NATO Summit in Turkey on Wednesday (July 8), said that efforts for a peace agreement are over and he no longer wants to engage in talks with Tehran. He said, ‘I think everything is over now, I don’t want to have anything to do with them. They are despicable people. They are being led by people with sick mentality.

Iran government is ‘cancer’, it is necessary to root it out…’, Trump’s threat to Tehran after the airstrike

The US President called the Iranians ‘liars, traitors and sick people’. Explaining his decision to announce the midnight attack on Tehran, Trump said, ‘They are liars, cheaters, sick people. He has harmed his own people. They have killed 54,000 protesters so far. You know, when people ask why he didn’t seize power? They cannot capture power because they are dead.

Sounds of doom in the Middle East! Trump said cancer is Iran’s counterattack, said- we are ready for fight

European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Kaza Kallas and Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met. During this, on Monday (1 June 2026), many issues including bilateral strategic talks, trade were discussed. At a joint press conference, Kallas said that Pakistan is a major regional power and an important partner for the EU.

Pakistan has the right to defend itself: EU

Kaza Kallas said that according to international law, Pakistan has the right to protect itself and its people. This statement of the EU foreign policy chief is also being considered controversial because Pakistan has been continuously promoting and sheltering terrorists against India. Last year, India conducted Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack and destroyed many terrorist hideouts located in Pakistan-PoK. After this there was a war between the two countries for 4 days.

Kaja Kallas also mentioned the Pakistan-Afghanistan war in his speech. He said, ‘Pakistan is currently embroiled in a war with Afghanistan. Several wars in recent months have had serious humanitarian consequences, threatening further instability and radicalisation. This is why we have continuously appealed to both sides to exercise restraint and reduce tension. Peace can be restored only through dialogue.

EU statement regarding Iran-America war

According to the report of Pakistani newspaper Dawn, he said, ‘With the support of Pakistan, there is now a delicate diplomatic opportunity to extend the ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Despite this, any temporary agreement between America and Iran should be followed by in-depth talks on Iran’s nuclear stockpile and other important issues. The European Union is ready to contribute to a lasting and peaceful solution.

Kaja Kallas said, ‘European Union is still the biggest export destination for Pakistan. In fact, it is bigger than both China and America combined. Pakistan is the largest beneficiary in the world of the EU’s trade preferences scheme GSP+. We are also expanding cooperation in many other areas including climate resilience, digital infrastructure, clean energy, migration and mobility.

Also read: ‘Deal with Iran is beneficial for America’, Trump said during talks with Tehran, told the Democrats – sit quietly and…

Amid tensions with America in the Middle East, Iran has made sharp remarks against the European Union (EU) on Sunday (April 19, 2026) regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Along with this, Iran has also accused the European Union of having a double character amid the increasing tension related to the US-Iran war.

Iran angry at European Union’s stance

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bagai targeted European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, saying that Europe uses international law selectively. He said, ‘Hey, the same international law?! The same law which the European Union uses only to preach to others, while on the other hand it is silently giving green signal to the aggressive war between America and Israel. Stop preaching.

Oh, that ‘international law’?! The one that the EU dusts off to lecture others while quietly green-lighting a US-Israeli war of aggression—and looking the other way on atrocities against Iranians?!

Save the sermons; Europe’s chronic failure to practice what it preaches has… https://t.co/Xv26JrZRnO

 — Esmaeil Baqaei (@IRIMFA_SPOX) April 18, 2026

Commenting on Kallas, Bagai termed this stance of Europe as the height of hypocrisy. He emphasized that Iran, as a coastal country, has the right to regulate the movement of ships in strategic waterways. During this time, he has also rejected the demands of movement through the strait without restrictions.

Also read: Italy Shooting: Heavy firing outside Gurudwara in Italy, two Indians killed, people gathered for Baisakhi

There is no rule to stop Iran from taking necessary steps – Bagai

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagai stressed, ‘Tehran has the full right to take action in the Strait of Hormuz and no rule of international law prevents Iran from taking necessary steps to prevent the Strait of Hormuz from being used to escalate military aggression against Iran.

He has also rejected the concept of free passage in the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz. He said, ‘Transit passage in Hormuz without any conditions? This fabricated story was debunked at the same time when the aggression of America and Israel had brought American military assets back into the Strait.

What did the European Union say about Iran??

In fact, this statement of the Iranian Foreign Ministry came when EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas said that the movement of international ships through major sea routes should be completely open and free. He also said that any pay-for passage scheme would set a dangerous precedent for global sea lanes.

Also said: ‘Ready to help in transporting enriched uranium from Iran’, amid Donald Trump’s claims, Russia made big offer to Tehran

The draft of the historic Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union (EU) has been prepared. According to Reuters report, as soon as this agreement comes into force, both will give each other Most Favored Nation (MFN) status. This means that both sides will be bound by the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and will not be able to impose any new export-import ban apart from the global rules.

This agreement has been reached after a long process of almost 2 decades. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has termed this agreement as a new blueprint for shared prosperity. European Union (EU) President Ursula von der Leyen has described it as a free trade area of 2 billion people, which will further strengthen the economic security of the world.

European markets will be fully opened for India
This agreement will phase out or reduce tariffs on 96.6 percent of products based on trade value. EU will open 99.5 percent of its market to India. Tariffs on most products will become zero immediately or within a maximum of 7 years. India will remove tariffs from 96 percent of goods of trade value.

Agriculture sector out of this agreement
Let us tell you that this process will be completed in a phased manner in the next 10 years. Both sides have kept sensitive agricultural sectors like dairy, rice, sugar and beef out of this agreement so that the interests of local farmers can be protected. This agreement is expected to bring huge economic benefits to both the parties. Indian exporters’ textiles, leather, gems and jewelery and seafood will get immediate zero-tariff access to the European market.

Cooperation on digital business also
At the same time, European car manufacturers and liquor producers will get the benefit of huge duty cuts in the Indian market. It is estimated that by 2032, European exports to India will double and European companies will save approximately 4 billion euros annually. Apart from tariffs, it has been agreed to make food security WTO compliant.

Apart from all this, both sides have committed to deepen digital business cooperation, in which privacy is considered a fundamental right. However, both countries will retain their rights on personal data protection and cross-border data flow.

A few days before the India-US trade deal, a trade agreement was signed between India and the European Union (EU) on January 27. This deal was called Mother of All Deals. After this, the trail deal signed with America is being called ‘Father of all deals’. Meanwhile, there have been reports of India’s trade with its neighbor and the world’s second largest economy, China, reaching a record level.

After India’s deal with Europe and America, it is now being said that what will happen if a similar deal is made with China. With both the deals, India’s trade is in favor of the country, because India exports more to both America and European Union than it imports. For this reason, these parties gave importance to making a trade deal with India. Somewhere he was forced to make a deal with India.

India-China trade balance
The case of China is different from America and Europe, because imports from China are very high and exports are very less. In fact, China’s Ambassador to India Xu Feihong announced in an event organized on the occasion of Chinese New Year on Tuesday that trade between the two countries has reached US $ 155.6 billion, which is 12 percent more than last year. The Ambassador said that this increase in trade is a clear sign of improvement in India-China relations.

Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong said that exports from India to China have increased by 9.7 percent. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has resumed, with around 20,000 Indian pilgrims participating. China has started re-issuing tourist visas for Indian citizens. Not only this, direct flights between the two countries have also been restored, which will increase the movement of people.

What did the Chinese ambassador say?
Xu Feihong said that the successful meeting of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Tianjin in August 2025 gave a reset and fresh start to India-China relations. He emphasized that both the countries are allies of each other. Apart from this, the Chinese Ambassador also supported India’s BRICS chairmanship this year and said that China is ready to strengthen multilateral coordination and promote the development of the Global South through BRICS.

Despite record growth in India-China trade, some concerns remain from India’s side because of the imbalance in bilateral trade. China’s exports are much higher than India’s. The Indian side has expressed concern over the lack of adequate access to China’s markets, especially over export restrictions in critical sectors such as fertilizers, rare earths and tunnel boring machinery.

India’s trade deficit
According to some reports, India’s trade deficit will reach close to $116 billion in 2025, which is a record level. The Chinese Ambassador said that China wants to become not only the world’s factory but also the world’s market. China’s tariff level is low by international standards (7.3 percent), the negative list for foreign investment is getting shorter and the visa-free policy is expanding.

The European Union (EU) has blacklisted Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas had said that IRGC would be included in the list of terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda and Hamas. After this step of EU, now steps have also been taken by Tehran.

Iran on Friday (January 30, 2026) threatened the European Union (EU), saying that it can declare the armed forces of those countries as ‘terrorists’. Iran’s top security official Ali Larijani wrote in a post on the social media platform

The Iranian official wrote, ‘The EU certainly knows that according to the resolution of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the armies of the countries that have taken part in the recent EU resolution against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are considered terrorist entities.’ He said that those European countries which took such action will have to suffer its consequences.

A historic trade agreement has been signed between India and EU. European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas has given a statement on this. She has said that when I travel around the world, I see that more and more countries want to partner with Europe. The reason for this is our trustworthiness.

He said that it takes a lot of time for us to negotiate the deal. When we do, we stick to them. We implement them. This has become a very valuable thing. We really keep our promises. We abide by our agreement. This is very important.

We are working together in many areas: Kaja Kallas

Kaja Kallas said that we are working together in many areas. In these, areas related to security, defence, foreign policy, maritime and cyber security have been identified. We are starting talks regarding this. Regarding both the countries, he has said that there is genuine interest in building trade relations between the two countries. But the geopolitical picture is completely different from these issues. India is not a small country. There is scope for cooperation in Europe. There are also relations between the European Union and India regarding foreign policy.

Who benefits from the FTA agreement between India and EU?

Actually, FTA agreement has been signed in the 16th India-EU Summit. During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU Council President Antonio Costa were present. European leaders participated as chief guests in the Republic Day Parade. FTA will reduce or eliminate 97% of tariffs on goods coming from EU to India. Up to 99% tariff exemption will be available on goods going from India to EU. There will be big relief on cars, wine, chocolate, pasta, medicines and car parts etc. Trade will increase on both sides, jobs will come and economies will strengthen.

The long-running negotiations on a free trade agreement between India and the European Union have been completed. This deal has been described as the mother of all trade deals. The reason for this is 25% global GDP and a consumer market of 2 billion, which will come into existence with this deal.
India-EU Trade Deal: A big step seems to be taken towards finalizing the historic trade agreement between India and the European Union (EU). In this sequence, European Union President Ursula von der Leyen, who visited India, gave an important statement on Sunday and said that India and Europe have chosen a clear option of strategic partnership, dialogue and openness. He described this proposed agreement as a ray of hope for the world.

Clear message of strategic partnership

Before the summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Von der Leyen said that this partnership between India and Europe is giving a strong message to the whole world. He said in a social media post, ‘India and Europe have chosen a clear option, the option of strategic partnership, dialogue and openness. Leveraging your strengths and building mutual understanding. We are showing a divided world that this path is also possible.

Top EU leaders will be chief guests at Republic Day celebrations

It is noteworthy that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa will attend India’s 77th Republic Day celebrations as chief guests on Monday. Antonio Costa described India as an important partner of the European Union. “Together we share the capacity and responsibility to defend the rules-based international order,” Costa was quoted as saying in a brief EU statement.

Jaishankar expressed hope for a new beginning

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar met both the top leaders of the European Union on Sunday. He expressed hope that the India-EU summit will open a new chapter in bilateral relations. Jaishankar said on social media, “It gives me great pleasure to welcome European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to India. We are honored to have them as chief guests at the 77th Republic Day celebrations. I am confident that their upcoming discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open a new chapter in India-EU relations.”

‘Mother of all agreements’

Earlier, during the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos on January 20, Von der Leyen had given a big statement regarding this proposed agreement. He had said that India and the European Union are on the threshold of a historic trade agreement, which will create a huge market of two billion people and which will represent almost a quarter of the global GDP. He termed this agreement as the “mother of all agreements”.

bilateral trade worth 136 billion dollars

It is noteworthy that relations between India and the European Union have continuously strengthened in the last few years. The European Union, as a group, is India’s largest trading partner in goods. The total merchandise trade between India and the European Union in the financial year 2024-25 is about US $ 136 billion, which includes exports of about $ 76 billion and imports of about $ 60 billion.
