How Doctors Find Cause Of Death In Postmortem: Postmortem i.e. autopsy is not just a medical procedure, but it is considered the most important way to reach the real reason behind death. When a person dies suddenly, under suspicious or unusual circumstances, doctors closely examine every vital organ of the body. Through this investigation, it is understood how and what were the reasons for the death.

How do we know about death?

According to medical experts of the National Health Service, every organ of the body definitely gives some indication about the condition before death. For example, if blockage, swelling or blood clot is seen in the arteries of the heart, then there is a possibility of a heart attack. At the same time, signs like filling of lungs with water, infection or burning sensation can indicate respiratory arrest, poisonous gas or lung disease. Brain examination is also a very important part of postmortem. If bleeding, swelling or injury marks are found in the brain, then experts link it to stroke, head injury or some external attack. Similarly, the condition of liver and kidney can determine the presence of poison, drugs or long standing disease in the body.

Read this also – Summer Fatigue: Feeling tired again and again in summer, know which disease is this a sign of?

Why does the report take time?

Actually, during postmortem, decisions are not taken just by looking at the eyes. Many times small samples of organs and tissues are taken and sent to the lab. There, disease, infection, poison or internal damage of the body is detected through microscope and chemical tests. This is the reason why in many cases it takes several weeks for the postmortem report to arrive. According to the standards of Britain’s Royal College of Pathologists and Human Tissue Authority, postmortem is done not only to know the cause of death, but also to understand the diseases better and make the treatment more effective in future.

Small checks are necessary

Experts say that even small marks on the body prove to be very important in the investigation. Signs like change in skin color, nails turning blue, injuries on the body or strangulation marks help in understanding the manner of death. Many times, by comparing the condition of internal organs and external injuries, it is decided whether the death was natural, an accident or related to some crime. After the postmortem, pathologists prepare a detailed report, which includes the probable cause of death, signs found inside the body and results of lab tests. This report later becomes the most important evidence in police investigation and legal process.

How Is A Dead Body Postmortem Done: After the death of a person, when it is necessary to know the real cause of his death, then postmortem is done. Many people have a question in their mind that what is done to the body during postmortem and which organs are examined by the doctor. Actually, it is a medical procedure, which is done with utmost care and under fixed rules.

What is done during postmortem?

According to the Royal College of Pathologists, postmortem is done in a respectful manner and during this, the feelings of the relatives of the deceased are also taken into consideration. Most postmortems are done by doctors who are experts in histopathology. This is the branch of medical science in which diseases and affected tissues are studied. Anatomic pathology technologists also help doctors in this process.

Read this also – Heart Fights Cancer: The heart is beating, that is, it is fighting cancer, new study gives hope

How is postmortem done?

Postmortem is usually done in a special room in the hospital mortuary, which is like an operation theatre. First of all the dead body is respectfully brought to the examination room. After this, a long incision is made in the front part of the body, so that the organs present inside can be taken out and examined. To examine the brain, a cut is also made at the back of the head, so that the upper part of the skull can be removed.

Which organs are examined?

During postmortem, doctors closely examine organs like heart, lungs, liver, kidney, stomach, intestine and brain. It is seen whether there are any signs of blood clot, tumor, injury or any disease in the body. Sometimes doctors also take small tissue samples, which are examined under a microscope. Apart from this, samples of blood or other body fluids can also be sent for lab test.

What is done after the investigation is completed?

After the examination is completed, all the organs are placed back inside the body. No organ or tissue is preserved without the permission of the family or the concerned authority. If there is suspicion of crime in any case, some tissues or organs can be preserved for a long time as evidence. If the death occurs under suspicious circumstances, the postmortem is conducted by a forensic pathologist. These experts are involved in the investigation of murder, custodial death or other legal cases. In such cases, a second postmortem can also be conducted at the behest of the court or investigating agencies, so that there is no dispute of any kind.

Important for legal investigation and medical research

According to experts, postmortem is not only a way to find out the cause of death, but in many cases it is also very important for legal investigation and medical research. After investigation, the dead body is prepared in such a way that the family can have the last darshan and the cuts made on the body are not visible in normal clothes.

The car bomb blast that took place near the Red Fort in Delhi on the evening of 10 November has shaken the entire country. There was a huge explosion in an i20 car parked at a traffic signal on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Marg. The explosion took place at the Red Light near the Red Fort and at least six vehicles nearby were hit by the fire and explosion. So far, nine people are said to have died and more than 20 people are injured in this blast.

According to reports, initial investigation indicated that the car which exploded and the person sitting in it caused the explosion in a suicidal manner and hence it is being called a suicide attack. Such a pattern is being linked to a suicide attack as the motive behind the attack appears to be complete and suicidal. In such a situation, the word suicide attack is being heard again and again. People want to know about it. So today let us tell you what a suicide attack is and how it is carried out.

What is the meaning of suicide attack?

Fidayeen is an Arabic word. Its meaning is one who sacrifices his life. A suicide attack is an attack in which the attacker deliberately sacrifices his life so as to cause maximum damage or to hit a specific target. In other words, it is a suicide attack where the attacker does not care about his death.

How is it carried out?

To carry out a suicide attack, the attacker himself goes to any place with explosives. Sometimes a vehicle is used, that is, the attacker reaches the target place with explosives in a car or van. In some incidents, the attacker has targeted a protected or large area, so that the damage can have a huge impact. Often, before attacking, targets are infiltrated quietly. Like buying a vehicle, hiding it in a parking lot or gathering near a building so that a timely attack can be made. If a suicide attacker reaches too close to the target, it becomes very difficult for the security forces to stop him. These attacks are often carried out at strategic or large places. Due to which more media coverage and fear spreads.

Also read: These airbases are always under the enemy’s radar, deployment here can become their last duty.

After the horrific car blast in Delhi on Monday (November 10), security agencies have issued an alert in the capital. In view of this, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has issued an order to close the historic Red Fort to the general public for the next three days.

On Monday, 9 people were killed and more than 20 were injured in the blast near Red Fort metro station, after which this decision has been taken due to security reasons. ASI officials said that during this period, the security arrangements in and around the Red Fort will be completely reviewed. Police, NSG and forensic teams are working continuously to stop any suspicious activity and investigate the evidence.

Home Minister Amit Shah met the injured

Last night, Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also reached RML Hospital, where they met the injured. After this, Amit Shah reached the spot and took stock of the situation.

Explosive material was kept in the car

Since the incident, teams of Delhi Police, NSG and NIA are investigating on the spot. It is being told that the explosive material was kept in a car, which is being linked to a person named Tariq of Pulwama.

Delhi Police registered a case under UAPA

Delhi Police has registered a case under UAPA in this matter and the entire area has been sealed. Security agencies are on high alert in Delhi as well as in NCR, Mumbai and UP.

ASI has appealed to the people not to go around the Red Fort complex unnecessarily for the next three days. The monument will be reopened only after the security check is completed.
