One Bike Two Helmet Rule In UP: In view of the increasing number of accidents on the roads of Uttar Pradesh, the Transport Department has taken a big and strict decision. The government clearly believes that a large number of people who die on the road are those who do not wear helmets, most of whom are pillion riders. To stop this, the rules related to two-wheelers have been completely changed in UP. Now if the person sitting behind on a bike or scooter is caught without a helmet.

So action will be taken directly on fine and license. Not only this, the rules have also been made strict for those buying a new car. Now the bike or scooter will be available from the showroom only when the customer buys two ISI helmets. That means one for the driver and the other for the pillion. If this is not done then you will have to pay a heavy challan.

What is the new double helmet rule of the Transport Department?

According to the new order of the Transport Department, now no dealer in Uttar Pradesh will be able to sell a two-wheeler without providing two ISI marked helmets. This has been named the one bike, two helmet rule. Now helmet alone will not be enough for the driver but it will be necessary to provide a certified helmet for the pillion rider as well.

Both the helmets should be BIS certified and ISI marked. Cheap and uncertified helmets found on the roadside will not be accepted. The department says that substandard helmets increase the risk instead of saving lives. Therefore, now every new vehicle will be registered only then. When the complete record of giving two helmets will be uploaded in the system.

Helmet data will be uploaded before RC

The new rules do not apply only to common people. In fact, strictness has also been imposed on the dealers selling vehicles. Now while selling the vehicle, along with the chassis number, engine number and model, the code and model number of both the helmets will also have to be entered in the form. Clear details of two helmets will be required in the bill received by the customer.

Apart from this, before sending the file to RTO, it will be necessary to upload the proof of giving helmet on the vehicle portal. If this data is not uploaded then the vehicle will not be registered. Not only this, if a dealer is caught selling a vehicle without giving two helmets, his trade certificate can be cancelled.

Fine and license will also be lost

After the implementation of the rules, the checking campaign will intensify in UP. Transport Department, Traffic Police and local police will jointly run a joint operation. Now action will be taken under sections 129 and 194D of the Central Motor Vehicles Act. If a person is caught riding a bike without a helmet or making the pillion rider sit without a helmet, a fine of Rs 1000 will be imposed. Along with this, the driving license will be suspended for three months. If the rules are repeatedly broken, the license may also be cancelled.
