Asia Top Fundraiser: The condition of Hong Kong’s stock market was not special even some time ago. The effect of China’s recession was visible here also. There was not much activity in the deal book, investors were in bad mood and bankers were leaving the industry, but this year the tables were turned completely.

The sale of shares in the Hong Kong stock market through Initial Public Offering (IPO), placement and block trade has increased almost four times to more than $ 73 billion. For the first time since 2013, Hong Kong emerged as the number 1 fundraising destination in Asia. In this matter, Hong Kong is just behind America in the world. India is at number two in this list.

Got boost from Chinese companies

According to Bloomberg report, the rise in Hong Kong’s stock market was boosted by Chinese companies, which made many big deals to expand their reach at the global level. Now in this regard, take the Chinese battery manufacturing company Contemporary Amperex Technology, which raised $5.3 billion in the world’s second largest listing in May this year. Similarly, electric vehicle manufacturer BYD and smartphone manufacturing giant Xiaomi Corp. also raised more than $5 billion in share placement. Even after America imposed tariffs, deals continued to be made.

Hong Kong stock market is continuously moving forward

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. “This year has been better than expectations,” said James Wang, head of equity capital markets for Asia excluding Japan. “We expect volumes to continue to grow, although at a slower pace.

This pace of deal breaking and fund raising has been seen across Asia. Four of the world’s five largest share sale locations are from this continent alone. Among these, Hong Kong is at number one. After that there are India, China and Japan. According to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the Hong Kong IPO pipeline is also looking good, with about 300 companies waiting to list their shares.

Bloomberg, quoting people with knowledge of the matter, said in its report that the largest possible IPOs include Syngenta Group and A.S. Watson Group is incorporated. Apart from these, listing of shares of Chinese AI companies is also expected. The Hang Seng Index has gained 29.5 percent this year, which is its best performance since 2017.

India is no less in this matter

India ranks second in Asia in terms of deal making. “Today we have more billion-dollar deals than ever before,” Manan Lahoti, head of capital markets at law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, said of the Indian market. “This year alone we will do more filings or launches than all the previous years combined.”

In India, IPOs set a record for the second consecutive year, raising more than $20 billion, driven by a growing pool of money from domestic mutual funds and retail investors. Existing shareholders have also started competing to sell their holdings through block trade.

The massive fire that broke out in an apartment complex in Hong Kong on November 26 has still not been completely controlled. Rescue teams continued to struggle for the second day on Thursday (28 November 2025) to control the fire in this multi-storey residential complex. The death toll in the accident has increased to 83, while more than 280 people are missing. Officials described it as the city’s biggest tragedy in the last 70 years.

Fire continued to burn on the upper floors of buildings

According to the report of news agency PTI, Adhikar said that about 76 people have been injured, out of which the condition of 43 is critical. A fireman is also among the dead. Many people are still trapped in buildings. The massive fire that broke out in four of the seven blocks has been brought under control, while the fire continued to burn on the upper floors of the remaining 31-storey buildings in the evening. Large scale rescue work is still going on and trapped people are being evacuated from the buildings.

Relief package for people affected by fire

The exact cause of the fire is not yet known. The government has ordered to start a criminal investigation in this matter. The official said that seven buildings, each of which has 32 storeys, have been completely gutted. The Hong Kong government has announced relief of 300 million Hong Kong dollars (about 43 million US dollars) for the affected people. Hundreds of displaced residents have been shifted to temporary shelters.

Homes of 4,600 people were destroyed

The Wang Fuk Court complex, built in 1983 in Tai Po district, consists of eight high-rise buildings containing 1,984 flats. According to the 2021 census, about 4,600 people live in these buildings. According to China’s official news agency Xinhua, Hong Kong Police said on November 27 that three people have been arrested in connection with the fire. The three persons arrested by the police are officials of the construction company who were responsible for installing these materials during the renovation of the buildings.

How did the fire spread suddenly?

Police say that the fire could have spread so quickly due to the flammable scaffolding and foam material used during the maintenance work. According to a report by The Guardian, Hong Kong Police Superintendent Eileen Chung said, “We have reason to believe that there was gross negligence on the part of the company responsible, which led to this accident and the uncontrolled spread of the fire, resulting in a large number of casualties.”

More than 50 people died in a massive fire that broke out in a multi-storey residential complex in Hong Kong, while 279 people are still missing. As the fire raged, the residents started abandoning it and running away. People said that they have become homeless and now they do not know what to do next.

Eyewitnesses told a horrifying story

Police investigation revealed that the protective nets, waterproof canvas and plastic sheets installed on the buildings may not have met the required fire proof standards, due to which the fire broke out. Local resident Shirley Chan said the scene was unbearably sad. She said, “Imagine a house burning down to ashes. Anyone would be heartbroken. I can understand that. It is really heartbreaking. I can’t even put it into words.”

Many people did not even know that their house was on fire.

According to the report of news agency AFP, a 65-year-old elderly man said, “I have been living here for more than 40 years. Our neighborhood is full of elderly people, many of whom use wheelchairs. The fire left all those families homeless. The windows of many houses were closed, so they did not realize that their house was on fire. Neighbors called them and asked them to leave the house. I am completely devastated.”

People saved their lives by hiding in the bathroom

Another local resident, Tong Pingmun (74 years old), said that he smelled smoke inside the house, but he did not evacuate the house. After some time, a fireman reached his house and warned that the neighboring building was on fire. Despite this he did not leave his home. Suddenly the situation worsened. As the smoke increased, Tong Pingmun and his wife hid in the bathroom.

He closed the space below the bathroom door with a wet towel. He switched on the ventilation fan and called for help, after which rescue teams reached him. According to the New York Times report, he said, “We were very lucky. There was dense darkness all around. If we had to go out alone, we would not have been able to survive.”

A rescue team employee ran towards room number 27 on the floor. According to a Reuters report, he said, “I wanted to remain at the site until the rescue operation was over. My heart was pounding. I think such incidents can only happen due to construction problems.”

How did the fire break out?

According to BBC report, Wang Fuk Court has eight tower blocks, each of which is 31 storeys high, containing 1,984 apartments. Recently, repair work was going on on these towers and bamboo scaffolding was installed on the entire external structure. Initial investigation found that the fire spread rapidly from one building to another. In this sequence, 7 out of 8 buildings got caught in the fire. The bamboo was dry and due to this the fire spread very rapidly. According to firefighters, the temperature was so high that the burnt material was flying up and falling far and wide and due to this the fire kept spreading further.

fire incident

The fire in the Hong Kong building has been classified as Level 5, the second highest level on the scale of Category 1 to 5 in terms of severity. Earlier in the year 2008, there was a massive fire of Grade 5 category in Hong Kong, in which only 4 people lost their lives. In the year 1962 also, 44 people had died due to a fire.

A fire broke out in some multi-storey buildings in Tai Po, Hong Kong on Wednesday afternoon (November 26, 2025). Local media has quoted the Fire Services Department (FSD) as saying that many people are trapped in the massive fire. Many fire brigade vehicles are trying to extinguish the fire on the spot. The flames can be seen from several kilometers away.

A firefighter was also among the dead
A BBC report quoting Hong Kong officials said that the number of people who lost their lives in this incident has increased from 4 to 13. It was told in a press conference that 28 people were injured in the accident and a firefighter was also among those killed. The fire department said that contact with that firefighter was lost at around 3:30 local time. Later, when he was found at four o’clock, he was immediately taken to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.

Efforts to control the fire continue
In the pictures emerging from the incident site, thick smoke, strong flames, firefighters trying to extinguish the fire and people running in chaos are clearly visible. The FSD said they received a report of the fire at 2.51pm on Wednesday and declared the fire a No. 4 alarm fire (the second highest alarm in Hong Kong) at around 3.30pm. Fire extinguishing operation is going on.

Teams of firefighters are trying to extinguish the fire in Wang Fuk Court, an eight-block housing complex in the city’s Tai Po. In the live footage, a plume of smoke can be seen coming out of three buildings. Public broadcaster RTHK quoted the police as saying that many people were trapped inside. Based on initial reports, police had said that eight people were injured, out of which three were unconscious.

How did the fire spread?
Hong Kong media said that some people were badly burnt. According to media reports, the fire spread on bamboo scaffolding outside the complex in Tai Po district of the city. Tai Po is an area in the northern part of Hong Kong and is near the border of the main Chinese city Shenzhen. In view of the magnitude of the fire, the traffic department has closed the entire section of Tai Po Highway and the routes of buses are being changed.

All schools will be closed for the next two days
All schools in Hong Kong and Macau will remain closed for the next two days.

India is a country from where a large number of people go to work abroad. The biggest reason behind working abroad is good salary and better lifestyle. When we talk about Indians working abroad, the names of countries of America, Britain, Canada, Australia and Middle East first come to mind. However, in the last few years, the number of Indians in European countries has also increased.

Now the question is, which countries of the world give the most salary to Indians, and especially why is there so much fierce fight for America. Many Indians go abroad for jobs because they get better salary there. In such a situation, let us know about those countries where Indians get the most salary and why there is so much attraction about America.

Which country of the world gives Indians the most salary?

Switzerland is one of the best and strongest economies in the world. Here Indians get very good salary. Switzerland is known for areas such as Finance, Banking, Electronics and Watch Making. The average salary here can be up to Rs 1.74 crore annually. Apart from this, if you are looking for the most salary in a country in Asia, then Japan can be a great option. IT, software, and Indians working in the restaurant industry in Japan get a very good salary. A average salary of up to Rs 36 lakh can be found here in a year.

These countries also give good salary to Indians

Iceland is a European country where foreigners get a very good salary to work. Here Indian workers get an opportunity to work in tourism and hospitality sector. Working in Iceland can give an average salary of Rs 60 lakh annually, which is more than the rest of Europe. Luxembourg is a small country, but Indians get a great salary here, especially in banking, telecommunications and finance sectors, an average of Rs 68 lakh can get an annual salary.

Hong Kong is considered one of the largest financial hubs in the world. Indians working here get a salary of $ 4,175 (about Rs 3.51 lakh) month on an average. Singapore is also a country where Indians get very good salary. On an average, $ 4,765 (about 4 lakh rupees) month is available here.

Why is there a fight for America?

America is considered a country of opportunities around the world, where thousands of Indians go to work every year. There are many advantages to working here, especially in areas such as IT, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology, working in American companies gives Indians a salary of up to Rs 57 lakh annually. This is the reason that there is a fight between Indians to get a job in America.

America has the largest companies in the world and technology sector, and along with good salary jobs. Working in America not only provides good salary, but also attracts high lifestyle, good health facilities and education facilities.
