Many non-alcohol factors also affect liver functioning.&#8221; In fact, the normal diet which we consider correct is no longer the same as before. Refined flour, hidden sugar, packaged snacks and frequent ordering of outside food gradually lead to accumulation of fat in the liver. The job of the liver is to process everything that enters the body, but when it becomes overloaded, fat starts accumulating.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Apart from this, less movement, sitting in one place for a long time and lack of sleep spoils the metabolism. According to the World Health Organization, lack of physical activity is a major cause of metabolic diseases. There are some reasons which people do not pay attention to, they are like taking medicines for a long time, crash dieting, irregular eating habits and sudden rapid weight loss. According to Dr. Patil, &#8220;All these things put additional pressure on the liver and can worsen the problem over time.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Symptoms are not visible in the beginning</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The biggest challenge is that its symptoms are not clearly visible in the beginning. People often ignore mild fatigue, flatulence or general discomfort. Dr. Patil says that in the initial stage, patients may not have any specific symptoms, and by the time the problem is understood, the condition can become serious. To avoid this, there is no need for huge changes, rather small and continuous improvements are more effective. Processed food, overly sweet drinks, eating late at night and taking unnecessary supplements should be avoided. At least 30 minutes walk daily, balanced diet and good sleep are very important for liver health.</p>

The problem is that most people do not realize it until the blood sugar level increases significantly. Regarding this, experts drew attention towards daily Indian food and lifestyle habits, which can gradually make the liver fatty and the body insulin resistant. </p>
<p><strong>What is insulin resistance?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Insulin is the hormone that controls blood sugar. When the cells of the body reduce their normal response to insulin, it is called insulin resistance. Reasons behind this could be poor eating habits, lack of physical activity, stress, smoking and alcohol consumption. Experts say that prediabetes and early fatty liver can be improved to a great extent by making timely changes in lifestyle. Experts say that the two common causes of fatty liver are excessive alcohol consumption and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. <p>According to experts, having late dinner affects the circadian rhythm of the body. Insulin sensitivity decreases at night, due to which eating late can increase blood sugar and cortisol levels. At the same time, such a pattern for a long time can spoil the sugar control. Therefore, it is considered better to have early dinner and give priority to vegetables in food.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Fatty liver cases are increasing rapidly in the country. The government has taken big steps to prevent this disease. Union Health Minister JP Nadda told in Parliament that all states have been asked to investigate people and identify fatty liver. Nadda said that the government has issued guidelines for this. The purpose of these guidelines is to inform people about fatty liver and promote healthy lifestyle. Now this disease is called metabolic dysfunction associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), which was previously called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). This happens when more fat accumulates in the liver. It is related to diseases like obesity, diabetes and high cholesterol.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Health Minister said that under the National Non -Communicable Disease Control Program, it has been said to be necessary to prevent and manage fatty liver, daily exercise, weight control and more Chinese and fat to avoid more. States have been asked to check according to the guideline and get the patient right treatment if needed.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Shocking results in research</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Nadda also explained the results of two big studies in Parliament. The first study printed in Nature Scientific Reports Journal in 2025. It included 345 IT employees of Hyderabad. The report found that 34 percent of the employees had metabolic syndrome and 84 percent of the employees had fat in the liver. That is, this problem is very common in the IT sector.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The second study was conducted by ICMR. In this, the risk of liver disease, diabetes and blood pressure was seen in many villages of Rajasthan. It was found that about 37 percent of the people had fatty liver, and this problem was more in men. Those who used to eat fast food in the week were found more in danger.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What is the government doing?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Nadda said that the government is providing primary health services through Ayushman Arogya Temple to prevent diseases like diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure and cancer. Along with this, the Ministry of Health is also running an awareness campaign from time to time.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">FSSAI is also giving people information related to liver through social media. Activities related to Fit India Movement and Yoga are going on continuously from the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of AYUSH, so that people remain healthy.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Why is caution important?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Doctors say that if fatty liver is not stopped on time, it can cause liver failure, diabetes and heart diseases. Therefore, daily exercise, healthy diet and regular checkup are very important.</p>
