LPG Price Hike: Due to the ongoing war between US and Iran, the prices of crude oil are increasing. Due to which its effect is being seen all over the world. The prices of petrol, diesel and gas are also continuously increasing. Talking specifically, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders in India have increased for the second time within three months. Since June 7, the price of 14.2 kg domestic cylinder has increased by Rs 29 to Rs 942 in Delhi.

Domestic gas is cheap in India
However, despite the increase in prices in the international market, LPG in India is still much cheaper than many countries of the world. According to the Petroleum Ministry, the actual cost of a domestic LPG cylinder has now crossed Rs 1,600, but the common consumer in Delhi is getting it for Rs 942. At the same time, after getting subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), the effective price comes to only Rs 642.

Also read: Petrol News: Petrol is 60 rupees costlier in Nepal than in India, smugglers are taking advantage of the difference in prices, the government took this action

Increase in international prices
This means that even ordinary consumers are paying about Rs 700 less than the market price, while the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme are getting even more relief. LPG import prices in India are linked to the Saudi Contract Price (Saudi CP). This price was $ 543 per ton in February, which increased to $ 775 in April and reached about $ 790 per ton in June. That means international prices have increased by about 46 percent in four months.

If the entire burden of this increase was passed on to the consumers, the cylinder would have become very expensive. But the central government and government oil companies are bearing a major part of this extra cost themselves.

LPG is cheap in India
Compared to other countries, LPG is quite cheap in India. Beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme are getting the cylinder for Rs 642, while its price in Pakistan is around Rs 1,046, in Nepal Rs 1,207, in Bangladesh Rs 1,225 and in Sri Lanka Rs 1,241. In developed countries like America and Australia, the price of a cylinder is more than Rs 1,750, while in Canada it reaches above Rs 2,400.

LPG Domestic Gas Cylinder Price Hike News: Inflation in the country has suffocated the common man. Necessary goods are becoming expensive day by day. After milk, petrol-diesel and CNG, now the prices of domestic LPG cylinders have also been increased in the country. News agency PTI has quoted sources as saying that gas companies have increased the price of LPG cylinder by Rs 29. After which now the price of domestic cylinder has become Rs 942.

In Delhi-NCR, the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG gas cylinder has now become Rs 942. Whereas the rate of 5 kg cylinder is Rs 339. Apart from this, the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder remains at Rs 3,113 50 paise.

Prices of commercial cylinders had also increased

With the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, speculations about increase in the prices of LPG domestic cylinders also started. Despite supply disruptions due to the Iran war that began on February 28, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders were not increased. The government had increased the prices of commercial LPG cylinders on May 1. The price of commercial cylinder was increased by Rs 993 and that of five kg cylinder by Rs 261. After this, on June 1, commercial cylinders became costlier by Rs 42.

Edible Oil Rules: 900 and 950 ML oil packets will disappear from the market, government took this big decision

There was no problem in supply amid the crisis

Regarding the supply of LPG gas cylinders, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said in an official statement that the supply is completely normal. Despite the crisis, there has been no shortage of gas at any retail gas agency. The ministry also said that continuous action is being taken across the country to stop hoarding and black marketing of LPG gas cylinders.

The government says that despite the Hormuz crisis, necessary steps are being taken to ensure uninterrupted availability of petroleum products and LPG across the country. Also, all the refineries are working at high capacity and they have adequate reserves of crude oil. Local LPG production in refineries has also been increased.

Amidst the LPG crisis, know these 7 government rules of gas cylinder, connection will never be cut, you will get benefits.

Online booking reached 99 percent- Government

The government has also given a statement regarding online booking. The government says that online booking of LPG has increased to 99 percent. 95 percent delivery is being done on the basis of authentication code sent to the registered mobile number of the customers, so that gas manipulation at the distributor level can be stopped.

Rules Change from 1st June: Now only three days are left for the month of May to end. Now the next month is June. Like every month, many such changes are going to happen this month too, which are expected to have an impact on your pocket and your life. These changes include reduction in LPG cylinder prices, rules related to PAN and UPI and ATM transaction fees. Let us take a look at some such changes taking place from June 1:-

LPG cylinder price

The country’s government oil companies review the prices of LPG gas cylinders on the first of every month. In view of the recent fluctuations in crude oil prices, new rates for commercial and domestic gas cylinders will be released on June 1.

Also read: Inflation News: Your increasing luxuries are eating away your funds, what is ‘Lifestyle Inflation’?

Rules regarding PAN Card

The government has changed the rules for showing PAN card. The good news is that now you will not need a PAN card to deposit more than Rs 50,000 cash in a single day. Instead, now you will have to disclose your PAN only when the total cash deposit or withdrawal from all your bank accounts in a financial year exceeds Rs 10 lakh, but on the other hand, the rules have been tightened in property related deals.

You will need PAN for property transactions worth more than Rs 20 lakh. Earlier this limit was Rs 10 lakh and if the deal is more than Rs 45 lakh, then showing PAN has been made strictly mandatory. Along with this, if you withdraw more than Rs 10 lakh cash in a year, it will now be monitored and reported. If you do not have a PAN card, the old ‘Form 60’ is no longer valid. Instead of this you will now have to use the new ‘Form 97’.

Many trains will be canceled

Indian Railways is going to start work on major infrastructure development projects and track upgrades in June. Due to this, there will be massive disruptions in train services. It is estimated that around 77 trains will be cancelled. At the same time, the routes and time tables of many other trains can be changed. Its impact will be seen in many states, including West Bengal, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha. Railway officials have advised passengers to check the time table and operational status of trains before starting their journey.

Banking Rules and ATM Charges

Recently many banks have made changes in ATM transaction policy and cash withdrawal limit. Some more changes can also be made from June. HDFC Bank has recently included the facility of withdrawing cash from UPI ATM in its free ATM transaction limit. Punjab National Bank has also reduced the daily cash withdrawal limit on some selected debit cards.

Banks can also review fixed deposit (FD) interest rates based on liquidity conditions and upcoming monetary policy decisions of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Customers are advised to keep an eye on the official information of the bank related to ATM charges, cash withdrawal limits and deposit rates.

Also read: Rupee Value: Rupee is continuously weakening against the dollar, but why is Pakistan’s rupee stable?

New rule on solar panels

The new rules related to ‘Approved List of Models and Manufacturers’ (ALMM) are going to come into effect from June 1. Under this changed framework, only solar modules and cells included in ALMM List-I and List-II will be eligible for use in government-assisted projects, net-metering installations and various subsidy related programs. The government has indicated that after June 1, no general relaxation will be given to meet the requirements of ALMM List-II, although relief may be considered in some special cases. Industry experts believe that this step may increase the prices of solar panels in the short term, but at the same time it will also strengthen the domestic manufacturing capacity and quality standards.

Not even 24 days have passed since the election results of 5 states have come and inflation is continuously hurting the pockets of the common man. From petrol-diesel to CNG and edible oil, the price graph seems to be moving upwards everywhere. Why did the prices which were stable during the elections suddenly start increasing? How much more shock is still left? After all, where will this speed stop? Understand complete accounting…

Petrol and Diesel: Box of inflation opened after four years

There was no increase in the prices of petrol and diesel for the last four years. But on May 15, 2026, the prices increased for the first time and then it seemed as if the trend had started. This is the fourth increase in the last 10 days. If we look at the latest figures, on May 25, petrol became costlier by Rs 2.61 per liter and diesel by Rs 2.71 per liter.

After this latest shock, the price of petrol in Delhi has reached Rs 102.12 per liter and the price of diesel has reached Rs 95.20 per liter. The real reason behind these increases is the ongoing geopolitical tension in West Asia. The ongoing conflict between Iran and America has greatly affected the prices of crude oil in the international market. Due to this war, the Indian government tried to protect the general public from the direct impact of the global crisis for 75 days, but during this time the government oil companies were suffering huge losses of about Rs 1,000 crore every day.

LPG: Relief for family members, but trouble for dhaba owners

The government has given big relief to domestic consumers on the LPG cylinder front. There has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder and its price in Delhi still remains at Rs 913. But those who run hotels, dhabas or restaurants have been hit hard by inflation. From May 1, 2026, there was a huge one-time increase of Rs 993 in the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder. After this increase, the price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi has increased to Rs 3,071.50.

CNG: Rs 6 per kg in 11 days

There is bad news for those who had turned to CNG to avoid petrol and diesel. On May 26, 2026, the price of CNG was once again increased by Rs 2 per kg, which is the fourth increase within two weeks. After this, the price of CNG in Delhi reached Rs 83.09 per kg. Since May 15, there has been an overall increase of about Rs 6 per kg on CNG. In NCR areas like Noida, Ghaziabad and Greater Noida, this price has reached Rs 91.70 per kg.

Edible oil: Inflation is spoiling the kitchen budget

This heat of inflation has now reached your kitchen directly. Edible oil companies are preparing to increase prices by 5 to 10 percent in the month of May itself. In the last few months, companies have already increased prices by Rs 8 to Rs 20 per liter. The reason for this is that due to the cost of crude oil, the demand for biofuel increases, due to which edible oils start being used more in making biodiesel. About 25 percent of edible oil is now being used in making biodiesel, due to which there is a shortage in the market and a rise in prices is being seen.

How much more is left to grow, where will this pace stop?

At present there is no sign of relief. According to Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, even after the current increase, the losses of government oil companies have not been completely eliminated. Even now they are incurring a loss of around Rs 600 crore every day.

Oil companies say that the increase made so far is able to compensate only 10% of their increased losses. In such a situation, it is considered certain that the prices will increase further in the coming 3-4 months. Due to the ongoing tension in West Asia, crude oil prices will continue to fluctuate. Whenever there is any hope of a peace agreement in the region, the prices of crude oil start coming down, but as soon as the talks prove to be inconclusive, uncertainty increases in the market and the prices start skyrocketing again.

Experts believe that there will be pressure on prices in the coming one or two months and they may remain at a high level. But if everything goes well, relief may start coming from July 2026 onwards and prices are expected to be largely normal by the end of the year. Real relief will come only when either the Strait of Hormuz opens completely or a concrete peace agreement is reached between America and Iran.

The government has the option of cutting excise duty, as was done on March 27, but this is a limited and temporary measure. If the global situation does not improve then the common man may have to bear this shock. The opposition has also started cornering the government on this issue and has alleged that the prices were deliberately kept stable during the elections and are being continuously increased as soon as the results are declared.

Petroleum Ministry: Due to the tension being seen in the Middle East for the past several months, its impact is being seen on many countries as well. Due to this, there has been an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel in India recently. After which there are speculations that soon the prices of LPG and other gas fertilizers may also increase. But in the meantime, the government has also given a latest update regarding this. The government has assured that there is ample storage of gas in the country.

Petroleum Ministry gave update
Looking at the situation in the country, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary of the Petroleum Ministry, has recently said that there is no shortage of oil, gas and anything else. During the recent inter-ministerial briefing, Sujata said, ‘It has been more than two and a half months since the West Asia crisis started, and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is still not normal’.

Also read: Dollar vs Rupee: Dollar is roaring, Rupee is shrinking, INR reached near 100 for the first time

He further said, ‘As a result, there has been a huge increase in the prices of crude oil, natural gas and LPG in the international market. Due to all these reasons, our imports of crude oil, LPG and natural gas have also been affected. However, our refineries are operating normally, and we have adequate reserves of crude oil.

Update on availability of fertilizers
During this briefing, the Joint Secretary of DOF Department also informed about the situation of her department. He said, ‘It is informed by the Department of Fertilizers that for this season, i.e. Kharif season, the availability of fertilizers in the states remains more than 51% and about 200.98 LMT fertilizers are available in the entire country. There has been no major change in the MRP of major fertilizers. After the crisis period, domestic production has been quite high, i.e. 86.2 LMT, and imports of more than 22 LMT have reached our shores.

US-Israel-Iran War Impact : The situation of war and tension in the Middle East has persisted for a long time. The effect of increasing political and military tension between Iran, America and Israel is not limited to those countries only, but it is reaching your home. Especially in a country dependent on oil and gas like India, this conflict is directly impacting your kitchen and budget. There is currently a ceasefire between America and Iran, but questions on stability are constantly being raised. Both the countries are not ready to bow down on their own terms. Recently, Iran sent a peace proposal to America through Pakistan, but President Donald Trump rejected it.

Iran has warned that if America takes any action near their uranium reserves, it could have dangerous consequences. Although the war may be happening far away, its effects are being felt right at home, especially in your kitchen, with prices of oil, gas and cooking fuel rising, reducing supplies, and impacting everyday expenses. In such a situation, let us know how the fire of this war has made a place in your house.

War thousands of kilometers away and its impact on your kitchen

The biggest impact of tension in the Middle East has been on the Strait of Hormuz. This is the sea route through which most of the world’s oil and gas passes. If this route is closed, the global oil supply is directly affected. Most of India’s LPG imports come through this strait. When this route is unstable, the prices of LPG, petrol and diesel increase. In such a situation, this war taking place thousands of kilometers away is affecting your kitchen.

How did the fire of this war find a place in your home?

The Government of India has taken several steps to meet this challenge. During the crisis, production was increased from 36,000 tonnes per day to 54,000 tonnes per day. After the increase in global prices, there was an increase in LPG prices, in March 2026, the price of domestic 14.2 kg cylinder increased from Rs 853 to Rs 913. The price of commercial cylinder increased from Rs 1,768.50 to Rs 1,884.50. The most direct impact of this entire struggle is being felt in your kitchen. Due to increase in LPG prices and possible supply crisis, common families are facing expensive gas and fuel. Therefore, even if the war is thousands of kilometers away, the shadow of its impact has reached the kitchen of your house.

loss of petroleum companies

Government oil companies are facing huge under-recovery due to keeping the prices of petrol and diesel stable. According to the report, the total loss of companies in the last 10 weeks has exceeded Rs 1 lakh crore. It is facing a loss of about Rs 1,600-1,700 crore every day.

LPG cylinder price on April 11: Since the declaration of war between America and Israel on Iran in the month of February, both domestic and commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders have become expensive. This has created turmoil in the global energy market. In the last two months, the prices of domestic LPG have been changed once, while the rates of commercial cooking gas have been changed twice. After nearly five weeks of conflict, America and Iran have agreed to a two-week conditional ceasefire.

Meanwhile, India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the government is ensuring continuous availability of LPG, petrol and diesel. Rajnath Singh also said that in the last 40 days, India has done the work of safely evacuating more ships from the Strait of Hormuz than any other country. “A total of eight LPG ships carrying approximately 340 TM (thousand metric tonnes) of LPG—equivalent to approximately 11 days of India’s import requirement—have successfully transited the strait, strengthening the country’s energy security and supply stability,” he said.

How much has the price of LPG increased so far?

Amid supply disruptions, the government has increased the prices of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders. The special thing is that in March, the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 60, but after that there was no change in the prices, due to which the prices of domestic LPG remained stable in the entire country.

At the same time, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder was first increased by Rs 144 in March, after which it was further increased by about Rs 200 on April 1. This has increased costs for restaurants, hotels and other places.

Ahead of the 2026 assembly elections in West Bengal, Chief Minister of the state and Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate from Bhawanipur assembly seat, Mamata Banerjee, on Thursday (March 26, 2026) made a sharp attack on the central government over the rising prices of domestic gas cylinders (LPG) and its availability.

Referring to the problems of the general public and especially women, he said that the situation is becoming increasingly worrying. We don’t even know whether gas will be available in the next two days or not. If the situation continues like this then people will again have to travel on bullock carts like in the old times.

Questions raised on increase in gas prices

During this, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also raised questions on the huge increase in gas prices. He said that remember, what was the price of LPG before Prime Minister Narendra came to power? Only Rs 400, which has now increased to around Rs 1,100. An increase of Rs 700 has been made silently in this. Due to this, the financial burden on the shoulders of the general public has increased further.

Taunt on government for delay in supply of gas cylinder

Apart from this, he also expressed his displeasure over the delay in supply of gas cylinders. Mamta Banerjee said that the day I came to know that now people will have to wait for 25 days to get gas cylinders, I called a meeting on the same day. Raising the question, he said, ‘If women get gas cylinders after waiting for 25 days, how will they cook food?’

What did the central government say about LPG?

This statement of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the price and supply of gas cylinders has come at a time when many claims are being made in the country regarding the prices of petrol and diesel along with LPG cylinders, while the central government is continuously saying that there is no shortage of LPG and petrol-diesel in the country.

India’s Inflation Impact: The effect of increasing tension in West Asia is now visible on India’s economy as well. Due to rise in oil prices and global uncertainty, pressure on the Indian currency has increased. The situation is such that the rupee has continuously weakened and reached near Rs 93 per dollar, due to which a situation of economic uncertainty is being created. At the same time, inflation in the country has also reached its highest level in almost ten months.

Experts believe that if this crisis continues for a long time, it can directly impact the pockets of common people. Although at present it does not seem to have a major impact on consumers, but if the situation continues for a long time, there may be an increase in fuel, travel and daily expenses.

Possible impact on India

1. Fuel and gas can be expensive

If the price of Brent Crude remains above $100 per barrel in the international market, then the prices of petrol, diesel and gas may increase. Due to this, there is a possibility of increase in the expenses of travel and daily life.

2. Imports will become expensive

India imports a large part of its needs. Due to the weakness of the rupee, prices of food items, industrial components, electronics and other imported goods may increase.

3. Foreign travel and studies are expensive

Due to the weakening of the rupee, services like foreign travel, foreign university fees and international online subscriptions may become more expensive than before.

4. EMI may also be affected

If inflation increases, the Reserve Bank of India may have to be cautious about cutting interest rates. In such a situation, the possibility of reducing the loan EMI may decrease and the pressure of high interest rates may persist for a long time. Obviously the crisis in West Asia is currently showing limited impact in India, but if oil prices remain high and the rupee weakens, then its impact may gradually reach the common people through inflation, fuel and everyday expenses.
