Flight Booking: Recently, direct flights to Navi Mumbai were started from Noida’s Jer Airport. Due to which there was a lot of happiness among the passengers, because now they were getting flights directly from Noida to Navi Mumbai. However, the airline which had started this flight has stopped it within a few days. Why so? Let us know.

Which airlines are these?
This airline is none other than Akasa Air. Which started direct flights between Noida International Airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport. However, now this airline has stopped its direct flights for the time being. This flight was the first non-stop flight to connect two new airports in India. The airline started this flight on June 16, but it was stopped after about 15 days i.e. from July 1.

Also read: Shoe Companies: Open lottery for shopping lovers, with this decision of the government, they will get bumper discounts and offers on shoes.

Two new flights started
After closing one flight, Akasa Air has started two new flights between Mumbai-Noida in place of this route. Both these flights are scheduled to fly daily. Along with this, the direct flight of Bengaluru-Noida has also been stopped.

Why was the decision taken?
The airline has taken this decision because both were new airports, which are still not easy to reach. Due to lack of good road and rail connectivity, lack of direct metro connectivity, expensive taxis and high airport charges, the number of passengers has been less than expected. Due to which the flights on this route have been stopped for the time being.

The flight was not closed forever
Explaining its decision, the airline has said that it keeps changing its routes from time to time considering passenger demand, weather, number of flights and better utilization of aircraft. The company has clarified that the Noida-Navi Mumbai flight has not been closed forever, plans are underway to restart it from October 1, 2026.

Chief Justice of the country Surya Kant said on Tuesday (May 19, 2026) that the youth should protest but for that they should not create trouble for others by taking to the streets. He said that all countrymen have the right to demonstrate peacefully.

CJI Surya Kant made this comment when he was hearing a petition seeking direction to the Center to take a time-bound decision on the Maharashtra government’s proposal to change the name of Navi Mumbai International Airport. CJI Surya Kant has said this on the protests regarding this demand. However, the Supreme Court has refused to consider this petition.

According to the report of Live Law, CJI Surya Kant said, ‘Everyone has the right to protest peacefully and under the law, but do not create trouble for the common man by taking to the streets.’ The Maharashtra government had proposed to change the name of Navi Mumbai International Airport to ‘Lokneta DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport’.

A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice Vipul M Pancholi told the counsel for the petitioner organization ‘Prakashjot Samajik Sanstha’, ‘This would amount to interference in policy making.’ The bench said that it is not inclined to hear the petition challenging the November 2025 order of the Bombay High Court, in which the petition was dismissed.

Also read:- Accused of violent protest by Noida workers appeared, SC refused to order bail, said- go somewhere else…

The bench gave liberty to the petitioner to pursue the matter before the competent authority. The court said on this, ‘Is it the job of the court to decide what should be the name of an airport?’ The court also said, ‘Let the state government take the matter forward. In a democratic system you have some rights and you can use them. You know this very well.

Adani Navi Mumbai Airport: Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL), built by Adani Group, is ready for commercial flights from December 25. From this day, a digital-first passenger communication system based on free high-speed Wi-Fi will also start in the airport.

According to sources, passengers connecting to the airport’s Wi-Fi network will get real-time updates through Adani OneApp, which will act like a virtual assistant and guide passengers to important places at the terminal.

Adani OneApp will help passengers in this way

This Wi-Fi enabled app provides timely flight status alerts, boarding gate information, schedules and other operational notifications directly to passengers’ mobile phones. The initiative aims to reduce reliance on physical information counters and static display boards, while providing personalized, timely updates.

Adani OneApp will also provide information about food and beverage outlets, retail stores, lounges and other terminal facilities, enabling passengers to better plan their time at the airport.

The company partnered with BSNL

Passengers will be able to use the internet at free Wi-Fi speed up to 10 Mbps at the NMIAL terminal. Airport officials said that this network has been designed to ensure high throughput and stability even during peak traffic, which will support messaging, digital payments, app-based cab booking, email, streaming and video calls.

As part of its connectivity plan, NMIAL has partnered with state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to provide mobile network services at the airport. This agreement has been signed under the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, in which the indigenous telecom infrastructure developed by BSNL C-DoT, Tejas Networks and TCS is being used.

What is the current passenger capacity of the airport?

Adani Group has 74 percent stake in Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). Rs 19,650 crore has been spent so far in making it. In the first phase, it will have the capacity to handle 20 million passengers annually, with plans to increase it to 90 million passengers in the future.

Navi Mumbai International Airport has been designed keeping in mind the convenience of domestic as well as international passengers. This will boost tourism, business will increase and connectivity will improve. Air passengers not only of Mumbai but of entire Western India will get a big relief.

Navi Mumbai International Airport: India’s renowned industrialist Gautam Adani on Wednesday said that Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIAL) is not only an infrastructure project but will also become the “gateway” to India’s economic future. Comparing this airport to “Lotus”, he said that it is a symbol of the country’s progress, self-reliance and modernity.

Gautam Adani shared a detailed article on LinkedIn after the inauguration of Navi Mumbai International Airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He described it as a historic moment in India’s infrastructure building journey and wrote – “This airport is a testament to India’s visionary leadership and the strength of public-private partnerships.”

Project completed in less than 50 months for Rs 20,000 crore

Adani said that this project has been completed in less than 50 months with an investment of Rs 20,000 crore. This airport is connected to the existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport of Mumbai, which will reduce air traffic congestion in Mumbai and give impetus to new economic activities in the region.

This project is expected to create more than 2 lakh jobs. Besides, this airport will also promote tourism, trade and new business corridors. Adani said that this project will help India reach the goal of becoming a $10 trillion ($10,000 billion) economy.

Symbol of ‘self-reliance and green development’

In his article, Adani specifically mentioned the environment-friendly measures adopted at the airport. He said – “The new airport is a symbol of self-reliance, which reflects India’s heritage and future aspirations.” Describing it as “the essence of modern India”, he said that it is “ancient in knowledge, but modern and limitless in ambition”.

Adani said that his group’s commitment is to strengthen nation building, aviation, logistics, green energy and digital infrastructure. “It will always be our greatest honor to serve India. The new airport is not just a project but a ‘sacred responsibility’ which we have undertaken with reverence, humility and values.”

“Every flight will carry the blessings of 1.4 billion Indians”

Adani said emotionally – “Every flight that departs from these runways will carry the blessings of 1.4 billion Indians, and every arrival will remind the world that – this is India’s time.” Adani said that when he laid the foundation stone of the project in September 2021, his dream was to “build a world-class gateway that reflects the ambition of India and the energy of Mumbai.” He said that today, that dream has come true. This airport will not only reduce Mumbai’s congestion, but will also open new doors of prosperity and empowerment for the entire Western India.

Also read: Google’s huge investment of Rs 88,730 crore in India, 188220 new jobs will be created every year.
