Pakistan Fielding Coach Shane Mcdermott Resignation: On one hand, ECB has dismissed Brendon McCullum from the post of head coach. The cricket world could not even recover from this shock, then a shocking news came from Pakistan. Fielding coach of Pakistan cricket team Shane McDermott has resigned from his post. Shane had been serving as the fielding coach of the Pakistan team for the last one year.

Shane McDermott’s resignation is shocking because after a few days the Pakistan team is going to tour West Indies. There will be two test matches played between the two teams. After that the team will go on England tour, but coach Shane McDermott will not be with the team.

According to news agency PTI, Mansoor Amjad will play the role of fielding coach of Pakistan team on West Indies and England tour. Amjad has been the fielding coach of Pakistan Under-19 team and Pakistan Shaheens. Pakistan Cricket Board has not revealed any reason why Shane McDermott resigned, but it is definitely a matter of concern because in the last few years, foreign coaches have been continuously coming and going in the Pakistan team.

Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie resigned from the post of head coach, while physiotherapist Cliff Deacon was also among the foreign coaches who stepped down from their posts on the staff of the Pakistan cricket team.

Former captain of Pakistan women’s cricket team Nida Dar has announced her return to professional cricket, who had decided to take an indefinite break last year. Citing mental health reasons, Nida had announced to take a break from sports in April 2025 to focus on her health.

Nida Dar posted on X on Thursday, “After taking time out to focus on myself and regain my strength, I am happy to announce that I am back. Once again I am available for the Pakistan Cricket Team.”

He further wrote, “I am ready to give my best, work hard and contribute whenever the team needs me. Thank you to everyone who supported me in this journey.”

Nida Dar last played for the Pakistan cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2024, after which the PCB dropped her from the central contract list. Nida was made the captain in place of Bismah Maroof after the 2023 T20 World Cup, although Fatima Sana was made the captain before the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh has given a big blow to Pakistan. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has suddenly canceled the NOC of fast bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana. Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana had left PSL 2026 midway and returned to their country due to participating in the ODI series against New Zealand. According to a report by Cricbuzz, BCB had given permission to Mustafizur to play in PSL 2026 from March 26 to April 12 and April 24-May 3. He was going to participate only in the ODI series against New Zealand. Meanwhile, due to injury, Mustafizur could not play the first 2 ODI matches. In the third and decisive ODI match, he made a comeback and took 5 wickets.

BCB reversed course

Bangladesh Cricket Board has hit back, as it has clearly said that it will not release Mustafizur Rahman for the remaining matches of PSL 2026. Let us tell you that Mustafizur was playing for Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2026.

If Mohammad Nawaz had indeed consumed banned drugs during the T20 World Cup 2026 and he is found guilty of doping, then Nawaz may have to face a lifetime ban from cricket.
