Prices of petrol and diesel may increase
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) says that the longer the ongoing tension in West Middle East continues, the more pressure will increase on energy prices, trade deficit and rupee. Due to this war, crude oil and petrol and diesel are becoming expensive at the global level. Due to this, the prices of petrol, diesel and gas may increase even more in India.

RBI has said that if the West Asia crisis continues like this for a long time, then the second round of inflation may increase, that is, everything from transport to food can become expensive. Prices increased twice in 2026
The year 2026 has started with tension in the Middle East. On May 15, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased by about Rs 3. In which the price of petrol has increased by Rs 3.14 paise, while the price of diesel has increased by Rs 3.11 paise. Four days later, on May 19, the prices of petrol and diesel once again increased by about 90 paise per liter.

Prices increased 13 times in 2022
Looking at the turmoil being seen in the oil market at present, it seems that the phase of 2022 is going to come again. Just as the prices of petrol and diesel have increased in just four days, similarly in the year 2022, the prices of petrol and diesel were increased a total of 13 times. At that time, due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, there was a lot of chaos in the oil market and the prices of crude oil also increased.

After which the Indian government also increased the prices of petrol and diesel 13 times in just 15 days. During this period, prices were increased by 80 paise per liter every day for 10 days between March and April. After which speculations are being made that the round may return again in 2022. Because currently experts are also saying that gradually the prices of fuel are going to increase further.

When did petrol and diesel become cheaper?
Till now, people are keeping an eye only on the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. Fuel prices are increasing directly after the year 2022, i.e. in 2026. But do you remember that their prices were reduced in the year 2024? In fact, on March 15, 2024, the government had reduced the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 2. After which the price of petrol in Delhi became Rs 94.72 and the price of diesel became Rs 87.62.
Let us tell you that till now in the year 2026, the price of petrol has increased by Rs 4 and the price of diesel has increased by Rs 3.94 paise. After which the price of petrol in Delhi has become Rs 98.64 and the price of diesel has become Rs 91.58. Its direct impact is on the public’s pockets. However, there are speculations that the prices of petrol and diesel may increase further in the coming days.

Petrol Diesel Price Hike: The effect of continuous increase in crude oil prices in the international market is now visible in India also. Today i.e. on 15th May, the Government of India has increased the prices of petrol and diesel. The government has increased the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 3 and CNG by Rs 2. According to the report of Pakistani newspaper ‘The Express Tribune’, the price of insulin injection device in the market has increased from 2200 Pakistani rupees to 4720 rupees. This is affecting the poor class, who seem unable to buy expensive medicines.

Prices of life saving medicines increased

In this report of Sunday (30 March) it was said that the price of Vitamin B supplements has increased from 500 to 600 Pakistani rupees. Similarly, the price of a packet of acidity medicine has increased from Rs 530 to Rs 620. The price of a pack of nutritional supplements and vitamin tablets has increased from Rs 480 to Rs 510. The price of thyroid medicine has increased from 85 PKR to 290 PKR. At the same time, the price of common treatment of typhoid has increased from Rs 805 to Rs 930. The prices of many other life-saving medicines have also increased.

LPG prices increase

Due to the ongoing war in West Asia, the average price of LPG in Pakistan has increased from Rs 3150-3,968 to Rs 3900-5135 for an 11.67 kg cylinder. Citing the data of ‘Sensitive Price Index’ (SPI) released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on March 26, another well-known newspaper of Pakistan ‘Dawn’ reported that the highest increase in prices has been recorded in the cities of Punjab province.

Fares for private vehicles increased

According to reports, as gas prices are increasing, the fare of private vehicles running on LPG has also increased. This is putting additional burden on low and middle income passengers who depend on LPG-run rickshaws, buses and minibuses. Amidst the increase in global prices of LPG due to the Middle East war, the supply of gas from Iran has also decreased. Earlier, 10,000 to 12,000 tonnes of gas was supplied daily from Iran, which has now reduced.

According to M. Ali Haider, convener of the standing committee on LPG of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, three ships carrying about 20,000 tonnes of imported LPG reached Pakistan in the month of March.
